Variety: Jackman to star in "Wolverine 2"

Not too stoked, I'd much prefer X-Men: First Class, and then leave the franchise be.

Quality over quantity, folks.

Completely unrelated, but I really wish they had brought Toad back (Yeah, I know he was a last minute cut from X2's script). Ray Park was awesome in the role, and the character was a lot of fun.

I don't know what else they would have done with the character...he pretty much did all that toad does in X1.

Probably true. But the planned battle between him and Nightcrawler could have been really cool.

I love Ray Park. The guys is awesome...Darth Maul, Toad...and he's snake eyes...probably one of the only things that will be good about GIJOE.

I'm indifferent. This was touted as a quality movie way back when Comic-Con was going on, yet I found it to be anything but. The M-rated video game ended up being more enjoyable. I can't imagine a sequel impressing me any more than this did. Plus, I don't know a person in real life who wasn't somewhat confused as to why an origin movie was necessary in the first place. Maybe I'll eat my words when the turnout for Wolverine 2 is even bigger than it was for this, but I don't see people coming back in droves.

Don't forget Ballistic: Ecks Vs Sever!!! Eh? Eh?....

lol...I saw that movie. Ray Park totally beat this girl up...beating her all over the place...and then she snaps his neck? 0_o talk about unbelievable.

Wow, they green lit that one fast.

As long as they have a pissed off Wolverine, not throw in mutant cameos and lay off set ups for other character spinnoffs I think it could be good.

Yeah, even though I liked Wolverine, this is basically exactly what happened with Fantastic Four. The week fantastic four was released, it got pretty good opening, and FF 2 was green light. If i remember correctly, I just hope Hugh Jackman can improve things for the sequal. Although, the sequal to FF was little better...

FF2 was a little better the the first one. Silver Surfer and Johnny Storm chase scene was cool.

I enjoyed certain scenes of Wolverine, the first 30 min I thought were great. The whole last half of the movie just lost it imo. And I thought the end was gonna be the best parts with the Gambit fight and Deadpool fight.

Maybe Jackman learned some lessons. I thought he said hes not producing another Wolverine or X flick.

Well if they're going to make another and do the Samurai storyline then they should at least give us a better movie this time.:wolverine

Make him more aggressive in the sequel, and chalk it up to the memory loss, and i'm all for the sequel.

I guess we could possibly get Kelly Hu back as Deathstrike. If they do use Deathstrike, i hope she isn't played by a different actress.

It is great to hear about Wolverine 2 being greenlit. I loved the film and will see it again tomorrow. I hope Logan also fights, The Silver Samurai, Mariko's Dad, and many Hand Ninja. If successful, maybe Wolverine 3 could be set in my fave place in Wolverine's past...Madripoor.

So Liev Schreiber/Victor Creed probably wouldn't be in this?

Let's hope they've learned something from all the critics they got for Wolvie 1. But before a sequel I want to see Jackman in a couple of other movies.

They will learn nothing. And if they do, Rothman will shoot them with an adamantium bullet.

Hot... but too old. They'll go with someone like Kreuk... or Grace Park... or an unknown. Hopefully whomever they get can at least speak Japanese fluenty when needed.

Hopefully they use Mystique and T'Challa in this sequel....

:whatever:

Another Wolverine film? YES THANK YOU FOX! We never got a Wolverine film because he wasn't the star in the first 3 X-men movies and it's not like he had a solo flick. THANK YOU FOX!!! YESSSSS!!!

Please forgive me if this has been posted already. If so, please feel free to combine with the existing thread.

From Variety:

Hugh Jackman and Seed Productions partner John Palermo are ramping up several projects for the "Wolverine" star.

Fox and Seed are in development on a sequel to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," which topped the domestic box office over the weekend.

The Seed partners have begun planning the sequel, which they are squarely focusing on the samurai storyline originated in the comic series, and whose Japanese locale was teased after the film's final credits. A writer has yet to be hired. Seed will produce.
