Variety: Jackman to star in "Wolverine 2"

Difference here is FF outperformed expectations. If FOX expected Wolverine to exceed X2 or X3's totals, then they will be disappointed. I don't think the series is salvageable because FOX isn't learning. All their comic films are cookie cutter, generic films (sans X1 and X2...though DD's DC I would say is not generic, FOX made a generic version of DD). FOX continues to not allow the filmmakers to make a movie that is more than a genric comic film. After FF, we said they'll learn for FF2. After FF2, maybe they'll learn for Wolverine. Wolverine suffers from the same problems as these movies and X3/Elektra/DD theatrical. Do you really think they'll learn? I don't.

I think the fact that they made the $$ will make this movie have a good chance of being made. And since they've bombed one, I figure chance alone will help them accidentally make WII a good movie.

And if that does well, I'd love to see him in Madripoor . . . . .

They haven't learned any lessons in the past, and this film has made more than enough money for them to say "why mess with what doesn't seem broken."

At least after SM3, Sony was smart enough to learn from the studio interference and give Raimi full control for SM4 (so Raimi says at least...we shall see in 2011). FOX just keeps doing the same thing, and I don't see how anyone can expect them to suddenly learn when there is a clear trend.

Hey . . . I'm trying to at least start out with an optimistic attitude. Help me out a little here.

:p ;)

After seeing this movie, I really can't :csad:

They squandered good talent with this movie...I think FOX's intentions are clear :down

So, X-MEN: ORIGINS: WOLVERINE 2: WOLVERINE'S REVENGE?

It could work as well as anything, if it's done well, which WOLVERINE wasn't. We'll see. I'll take a good WOLVERINE 2 and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS movie, sure.

Or lack of intentions, rather. They didn't intend to ruin Wolverine's solo film. I really hope not, anyway (though at this point I don't think I'd really be surprised).

Still, I'm hopeful. Usually superhero movies 1-2 for characters are good, 3-4 are completely awful . . . . is there any time when we've got to #5?

SM4 will change things with its awesomeness in 2011, mark it down!!!

We may have not gotten to 5 yet...but given how the series continues to go down, I'd hate to see what a 5th film looks like :csad:

i can't wait for the pointless Sunfire cameo where he and Wolverine wrestle

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Part 2: Rise of the Silver Samurai

I don't think they intend to ruin the characters. However, their intentions are clearly not making a film that elevates the quality of the franchise or genre. All they want to do is make by the numbers films to cash in on the market. When X1 and X2 were made, there wasn't as much of a comic movie market yet, so there was nothing to cash in on yet. It was still developing. Now the market is established, they're putting out whatever generic films they can to cash in.

That's their intention.

maybe they will include SHIVA chasing wolverine down.. that would be cool..

Money-grubbers . . . . What happened to the day of art and care of quality? It's not with Fox anymore, that's for sure.

:down

2011 is going to be a big year for Marvel. I wonder when they plan to release Wolverine 2...probably 2012.

Just for the record, I have NO problem with a studio wanting to make money. None at all. However, I don't like FOX's approach as their quest for money has sacrificed quality to a far greater extent than any other studio. Sure, Sony, WB, etc are guilty of it too, but FOX's films seem to suffer the most.

And take into fact that it's not necessarily Fox who's pushing to make this film...but Jackman and his production company. But Fox cares about money, so if they make money, they are on board. The downside is Fox has them run by their rules.

2000, 2003, 2006, 2009

I'd say 2012 is a good bet.

Why is there no Spider-Man 4 in your sig :cmad:

But 2012 is probably a good bet IF it happens...though going up likely against BB3 that summer...not good for them. They'll get owned.

This movie will be the end of the world

If Uncle Ben doesn't have another new killer this time around I may put it in :o

SM4 is going be awesome...I can feel it

Now sig it! That's not a request, that's a demand! :cmad:
