Venom now has a stand alone film, according to the studio.

Well.... I guess I'm happy because I really do want to see those Morbious and Silver Sable movies. But I just hope that Venom's success doesn't send the message that they don't have to try to make a good movie to make money.

Spoiler alert: that's exactly what they're going to learn, and those movies aren't going to turn out well.

The kind of people who vote on Rotten Tomatoes are the same nerds who spend their day yelling at each other on the internet. It's an audience score in name only.
I think it is a far lower level nerd that votes on RT than joins up to hardcore nerd sites, but still not a true GA member. A true GA member comes out of watching a CBM and then logs onto facebook/twitter to watch cat videos and talk about reality TV. ;)

Quite a curveball of a message I've read in a while. :2face:

Sony take note on what it means to simply average out creative vision constantly looking for acceptance while doing so.

Well i enjoyed Venom but i still hate Sony for ruining SpiderMan twice ! The re about to ruin him for the 3rd time.
Also why would we want a Venom franchise without SpiderMan ??? I dont get it.

So why wouldnt i hate Sony ? They need to go out of business and send SpiderMan where he BELONGS.
Simple as that.

It's cool. Emoticon to resemble the switch from having fun at the theatre to being displeased with the whole thing. Sony's movies generally don't seem to attract a cult following eitherway from what I can tell and simply trying to hatchet something together and abra cadabra a film saying look we made another film for MCU fans is just asking for increased scrutiny as if they didn't have enough deciding to do this film in the first place.

Where'd the Venom sub-forum go?

I'm a bit surprised by that as the movie is likely to have a sequel judging by worldwide box office like it or not. Forum Topic Category downsizing I think seems unlikely as expansion in topic categories moreso this past year especially in the TV area. Therefore, mod who deleted the forum may not like Sony nor the Venom movie and that may be the way of expressing that?

Anyway, I've been posting in this thread as just didn't feel like going back in there wading through the ton of comments as my optimism dwindled to nothing this past August and I decided to pass on giving money to support this hatchet job of a movie.

That being said, I did have some posts I put some effort into as well as some interesting posts/resource links provided by others so would be appreciated if mods could give a heads up on forums being deleted. I remember back when the Agent Carter one was taken out (not a fan of 2nd season but did say thought the actess was great in the role as the last post on there before the whole forum was taken down soon afterwards). I went on the tech support forum asking about this and was told no threads were deleted. When I pointed out they were just no response...

I thought i was alone having that problem. The movie is doing so well, the SHH servers couldnt handle all the positivity. Perhaps its being given its own special VENOM Franchise forum/cleaned up/modded, for whatever reason, idk.

Man, I get what you're saying but I highly doubt the mods deleted the sub forum.
Tomorrow it will probably be its own folder.

It's an error of some sort. We'll get it fixed, no worries :)

I blame the russian bots..

btw im having a blast reding some comments from 2008 about a Venom movie lol:

A movie dedicated to Venom......it's doomed already.

Venom is totally and utterly incapable of carrying his own movie, and probably one of the least worthy villains to get a movie. He's no Magneto. He has not got the depth or story to make a movie.

He was created as an enemy to Spider-Man. That's the only way he functions best.

This movie is a train wreck waiting to happen.

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $171,063,982 37.0%
+ Foreign: $290,700,000 63.0%
= Worldwide: $461,763,982

It definately hit the $500 mil mark by the end of next weekend. Then we have China which hasnt opened yet. I think a typical superhero $75-125 mil gross is to be expected there.

Venom will give AntMan & the Wasp ($622,4 mil) a run for its money.
