Venom. SM3 & SM4

Just wanted to throw out a few thoughts on SM3

I was reading that part about Venom appearing in the last 10 minutes of Spider-Man 3 and then all of a sudden it hit me. If Venom is only in SM3 for the last ten minutes, then it's obviously a set up for SM4! So my guess is that MJ gets killed off in SM3 (her contract is up,remember?) GS is the new love from here on out, and the Venom rivalry segue ways into SM4.

So what do you guys think about this?

unless, of course, they kill venom off at the end of three

yes.. I am aware Venom is popular.. but I dunno if I want to be a Venom fan boy if some of my sources are a guy who quotes a wrestler:

Just a quick question... what has Venom ever done to Spidey that has made him a Badass... I mean... yeah he talks a big game.. and odds are he could crush Spidey "like a bug" heh.. I love puns.... buuuuut.. how come Spidey keeps overcoming him.... and I don't recall Venom ever killing off the love of Spidey's life... or almost marrying his aunt... or replacing his aunt with an actress... or even going so far as to enlave spidey and make him think he's a villain (well... unless you count the symbiote by itself ) but... I guess that's reserved for the cheesy marvel throw back characters?

is it Venom's willingness to kill?... because I gotta tell you... he says he's going to kill spidey... buuut.. dude's still there.

again, I'm not denying he's popular... hell in the early to mid 90's.. every 2 months you'd see something about Venom in the Spidey comics.. so there must be an appeal

but other than looking like a cool anti-spidey... what's the hook?

Just because the writers screwed up his story and gave him bad storylines doesen't mean he isan't popular, marketable or unable to carry a movie.

I never said he hasn't got popularity,or he isn't marketable for a movie.

He is the only major Spider-Man villain that has had consistent bad writing.For every one good story he gets,5 terrible ones follow.

He's become a bad cliche,so bad that they've killed Brock off and made the Scorpion the new Venom.

Venom IS popular in the lines of GG and Doc ock. You walk to a random person on the street and ask them to name 1 spiderman villian they're going to say Green Goblin, Doc Ock, or Venom. You're telling me bad guys like the Vulture, Kraven and Rhino are more important then Venom?

Again I never said he wasn't popular.I'm desputing that he is THE most popular and best of them all.

Venom is considered to be one of the "Big three",consisting of GG,Ock and Venom.But he doesn't deserve it IMO. He has not done anything that makes him worthy of being ranked with those two classics.

Venom is popular more for his image then for his story.

Which is sad.A cool image with a shallow character does not a good villain make.

His voice, his image, his powers... just as long as they keep his story true to the comics, I'm sure he can carry multiple movies by himself.

Multiple movies?? How many times can you stomach the "I hate Spider-Man yet I must protect the innocent" routine.

He's not Magneto.He hasn't got that many angles to him.

Green Goblin and Doc Ock are good, don't get me wrong. But Venom is Venom, badass regardless of what the writer's do with him.

I know Thomas Haden Church and Kirsten Dunst said he's in it.

No one knows much except Venom is in it for 10 minutes.

From what we know, Venom himself is going to be in it for 10 minutes, and logically that'll set him up for Spiderman 4.

Man no one beat up spider-man the way venom did...........spider-man was afraid of him.

So?? Spider-Man QUIT being Spider-Man after Ock beat him.Spider-Man BEGGED for his life with Electro.

Spider-Man only beat venom once Fairly and it was in a stupid way (amazing spiderman 300) everyother time he got fantastic four help everytime. And everytime venom got close to the kill something besides Spider-man got in the way.

Spider-Man never needs to beat Venom anymore.Most times they're working together.Or Venom turns tail and leaves for some stupid reason.

I dont recall Spiderman asking the ff to help him take out Electro.

Spider-Man enlisted the aid of countless heros to take down his villains before.You act as though Venom is the first ever villain Spidey had help taking down.

I can whip out the scanner if you REALLY want to push this.

And yes venom is Spider-mans most fan fav villain overall.

Prove it.

And don't come back with "Because I know" or "All my friends say they like him best" etc. Show me some proof that he's the absolute favorite.

Its why theres so much venom merchandise

There's just as much Ock and GG merchandise too.

I know story concerning venom aint that good now, but you can only blame the writers......I can think of at least 100 ways to write a good Venom story.

Venom hasn't had a decent story in years.The writers don't have that problem with the other villains.

Venom had a good run in the cartoon

So did Ock and GG.Better than Venom in fact.

and made many appearances and had sagas dedicated to him

So have Ock and GG.

to tell the truth kingpin i think was the most used sm cartoon villain and as you know hes quite unpopular.

and why is venom playable in usm the game???

Because the story of the game was about his and Peter's parents,and what became of them.

haha.. Spidey has had one of his worst beat downs most recently.. so much so that he lost an eye in the process.. read "the other" story line (for those of you unfamiliar)

Although I did like how he beat Morlun the first time (the super radiated blood) now that's using the ol' noggin.

not a big fan of this whole "spider within" thing.

but.. back on topic... Venom has beat the crap out of Spidey before... but he's not the only villain to take spidey down a few pegs.
