Global take of $175 mil isn't bad. Considering the budget. But it does look like it will come in under the first 2
Nah I think The Last Dance fits the quirkiness of this franchise. In regards to the name itself; last dance? i mean wouldn't it have been better as "last stand?" though they can mean the same thing in this case
Its because most movie goers aren't really that critical when giving these scores. So most of the scores are probably letter A for the simple fact that they enjoyed the film and scoring a film they just saw isn't that serious. So its not that common to hand out scores like B- or a D unless they really had a bad time watching a movie (Joker Folie a Deux).
According to the founder Ed Mintz:
"A's generally are good, B's generally are shaky, and C's are terrible.
And still significantly less than Deadpool and Wolverine, since those are at least both thirds in their trilogies, if we want to make comparisons.Still more than Joker 2.![]()
Well it doesn't seem fair to compare it against Deadpool and Wolverine. Those are 2 well known and loved characters. And still significantly less than Deadpool and Wolverine, since those are at least both thirds in their trilogies, if we want to make comparisons.
Still, probably doesn't bode well for an even lesser known character like Kraven.
And the main reason the sequel did that well was the hook of finally seeing Venom vs. Carnage onscreen, something it didn't even do well.
And this…Well it doesn't seem fair to compare it against Deadpool and Wolverine. Those are 2 well known and loved characters.
Now if this movie would have been called "Spider-Man and Venom"...![]()
Which is why I think the SM4 rumors are going to end up true. This movie existed essentially to introduce Knull and bridge the gap. This…
And this…
Carnage was an event to see on screen. What did this third offer in terms of villain? Nothing that topped Carnage.
Spider-Man was the next likely to really push it over the top - would’ve probably opened on par with No Way Home if it did.
I personally thought this could easily be the best one of the trilogy (sure, isn't saying a slot, but still).
The action scenes were really good. I feel Kelly Marcel could continue directing in the genre.
Surprised at the revelation that it's been only a year since the first movie. Sure this one takes place just days after Let There be Carnage, but it felt like a bigger gap between the first and second one.
I know her character didn't fit the story and including her would've felt forced, but the movie lacked Michelle Williams.
Now, so many people saying this leads to Spider-Man 4 but I never really felt that was the case...?
For starters:
They retconned NWH's post credits scene, and I'm seeing a lot of people missing that out. They make sure to show you the bar scene, but this time you don't see Venom leaving the piece of symbiote in the MCU. He leaves it after returning to his universe.
Now, being a huge Spider-Man fan, I don't know what he could do against someone like Knull. A whole team of symbiotes couldn't really beat his minions.
I'd question how would Knull travel to the MCU, but since he's the god of symbiotes and they connect multiversally, I suppose that wouldn't be hard to explain if they wanted to go that route.
But I honestly think, maybe it's wishful thinking, that this isn't leading to SM4. I think Sony is moving forward with their Sinister 6 movie. Except they'll be anti/heroes just like Venom has been.
Venom is alive possessing the roach from his piece kept by Imperium, as seen in the post credits scene and made obvious by the dialogue at the beginning.
Agony is there as well, with a host that seems to be compatible.
They'll bring back Morbious because of course they will.
We'll soon have both Kraven and Rhino in this universe.
They'll retcon Morbious' post credits scene as well, I'm sure, so no Vulture. They'd be missing just one member. Two if they don't use Agony for not being well-known, but it'd be a waste since they already gave us her origin story. Heck, the doctor could end up being Eddie's romantic interest.
If they don't fear the risk, they could have Madame Web be the one to assemble them. She'd be 20 years older than in her movie, so if Dakota doesn't want to come back they could recast.
And lastly I believe Eddie being in NY at the end is very much on purpose. He'll already be there when the team up happens, maybe working at that universe's Daily Bugle, and will reunite with Venom until the third act as the "big gun".

Felt like a retcon to me.I dont think thats a retcon at all...I think that symbiote part is still in Spider-Man universe. They even tricked us with the trailer into thinking they captured it but in the movie they were actually in Eddie's universe.
Let There Be Carnage had a budget of $110 million, I think. And Venom 3 was $120 million.I wish we had seen as much action in LTBC as there is in TLD. I dont know what the budget was for LTBC, I assume it was much lower than this movie.
