Aerosmith ahead of the Ramones.

First of all..."great" would assume some level of talent. If that is the case, then certainly Dream Theater is one of the greatest acts on earth (and Rush would certainly be higher than number 75). Greatness can also come from just having amazing songs (like The Beatles, not necessarily overly talented musically, but they wrote the greatest songs ever written). What should NOT be taken into consideration are sales numbers. Trends come and go, and often come as a reaction against skillful playing.
I agree. People had the nerve to wonder why Celine Dion wasn't on the list and I'm like, yes she is a terrific singer but she doesn't even write her own material. Same as Whitney Houston. People look at them and assume they deserve to be on there because of singing alone, and that's not the case.First of all..."great" would assume some level of talent. They got Number One absolutely right.

No White Stripes?
I like Johnny Cash being semi-high though
I could argue with the rankings as far as who should be higher or lower all day, and it is really just my personal opinion.
Also personal opinion...Nirvana should not even be on the list. They are the most over-rated band in the history of rock n roll. They were hardly original or ground breaking, as that style had been around for quite some time...and their songs were mostly poorly performed, badly written crap.
I wouldn't mind seeing a top 100 list like this come from the UK...and compare.
I must be losing my mind.Wow. Look at that. You and me agree on something.
Madonna being ahead of both of them is disgusting.
Anything Jack White deserved to be in the list...literally one of the best music geniuses we got now!Or at least Jack. He has been involved in so much good music the past 10 years.
If that's the case little Richard should be just as high as him. And Chuck Berry.Elvis should be higher, just my opinion
