Villain Sandwich

Majority of us seem to agree that 3 villains was too much for this movie, so which villain do you think should have gotten cut, based on over all theme and flow of the movie.. who didn't fit for you?

For me... it was sandman, yes it's arguable that if venom was cut and saved for the 4th sandman could have had more development, but on screen (and not being a huge venom fan) the symbiote itself was just more interesting to me then a villain who "has bad luck" yet friggin tries to kill people anyway even though he doesn't want to...

I don't think it matters that much. They could all have been good/better with enough focus and breathing space. Cut any one of the three and save them for another film.

there should be an option for NONE, they were perfect to develop the message that Raimi wanted to give with the 3rd

Venom should have been a cliff hanger and allowed for Sandman to develop and Harry to shine. Peter would have needed help with Sandman from Harry anyways.

X3 had more villians, but we had two movies to learn about the MAIN ones.....anyone else was put in and EXPLAINED in a shorter amount of time too! all these guys couldve worked, the potential of it just boggles my mind....

Well yeah, but there were some characters who got shafted as well in the X-men franchise. *coughcoughCyclopscoughcough*

But anyway, for me it can be either Sandman or Venom. Especially Venom. Brock probably only had 10 minutes of screen time with only being developed a little and then bam! Venom. Sandman, slighty more fleshed out than Brock but only 1 scene with his family.

Peter and Harry facing off against the monster Sandman would've been a great finale. Plus it just as effectively conveys the theme of revenge and forgiveness.

I wonder: Peter's fame going to his head, and his agression towards Sandman-would it have been more effective if done without the symbiote? I think so.

Wow, this is really really hard for me. Torn between Venom and Sandman.

I enjoyed the Brock/Venom stuff more - but ultimately Sandman fit the story better. So for the overall cohesiveness of the story I voted Venom off.

I think I would've liked to have seen more Sandman in this film and then have Spidey find the black suit, then towards the end of the film he sheds it and Brock becomes Venom, thus giving Venom an entire movie (spidey 4) to himself.

For me seeing the movie, it's alright because we don't have to wait for 5 movies just to see 5 villians.

Venom should have been cut, and Brock should have stayed in order to grow. This would have resulted in a tighter story and more development for Sandman. Thus Venom could have appeared later.

I agree, is not that his story was rushed, is that it was really stupid

they could have used his screen time to develop eddy vs Parker, Peter under the influence of the black suit and eddy becoming venom

I actually don´t think venom had to little screen time, but I think the built up to him confronting peter could have been alot better

I think a whole movie about venom would have been to much, he is one of the most powerfull villians of spider-man and his attacts are more frontal than say the Goblin or doc Ock, generally Spidey villians want something and spidey is in the middle, but with venom is different, he just wants to take spidey out

Like I say... 2 1/2 hour of spiderman fighting venom... maybe to much for my taste.... 15 minutes of venom fighting spidey, but with 2 hours of prelude (better arive of the sysmbiote to earth, peter-brock rivality, peter messing his live because of the black suit) would have been great... like I said Sandmand should be out of this movie (Sandman in SM4 with a better story)

Venom should never had been included in this movie. Eddie would have been fine. Flesh out his character by estabishing his relationship with the other characters. Make us relate more to his rage and hatred building up. This was Harry and Sandman story and it should have gotten the attention. Nothing was wrong with Sandman story it just got cut short. Short scenes and little dialogue. The revenge theme still could have worked. Eddie was the build up and could have potentially been very exciting for the next go round. Pity the execs don't get it.

harry and sandman should have been the villains, by forcing raimi to add a character he hated they totally fu**ed up the movie and venom!! brock transforming into venom as the last scene of the movie would have been awesome, setting up for the 4th every1 i kno spidey fan or not thinks venom should have had his own film!!!

For me it would have been Sandman to leave out.

Although I am happy with what they did for this film. As I keep on saying, when Harry comes to save Pete from Venom and Sandman it is the best moment out of all three films. So it was over crowded, Eddie didn't get enough screen time etc BUT for me that one part makes up for all of it. So am Ieven happy that Venom went and had a team up, that part was done superbly well.
