Vince Doesn't See Money in the Wrestling Thread

What's everyone's thoughts on the repackaging of Joe Hennig? Changing his name to Curtis Axel and putting him with Paul Heyman are smart moves in my opinion. Plus the Mr. Perfect theme remix is great.

Still haven't seen anything worthwhile from him.

I'm not impressed simply by putting him with Paul Heyman and putting the IC belt around his waist. I need to see a lot more of him before I buy into him as credible, because right now, I still see him as Michael McGillicutty.

I tend to agree here but it's a good starting point nonetheless.

Well, Sting was THIS close to signing with WWE two years ago. Given that Sammartino eventually came back for a reported one million dollar paycheck, I think its only wise Vince would shell out the big bucks to finally get The Icon this time. Maybe to even headline The 2014 Hall Of Fame Class if Hunter or Rocky don't do it instead.

Sting Vs. Helmsley, that's what I want.

It's funny when you think that when WCW took WWF's best stars in an attempt to become #1, WWF ended up becoming #1 by making WCW's former midcarders (Undertaker, Triple H, Stone Cold, Mick Foley) main eventers along with a few of their original talent that they brought up (The Rock, Ken Shamrock, Kane, Kurt Angle), before eventually taking in many of WCW's top talent (Jericho, Guerrero, Malenko, Saturn, Benoit) to cement themselves.

It's something TNA should have done but they went full ****** with it and got too many has been wrestlers and kept their original talent down.

He's not bad. Nothing special yet, but his wrestling skills aren't bad.

Then again, I wasn't watching wrestling when he was Michael Mcguilicuty (or whatever the hell you spell), but by watching that "greatness" video, I'm glad I don't have my opinion tainted by that.

"This moment.....starting now"

Maybe because I haven't seen one in years but I enjoyed this weeks Raw.

I want Sting in the WWE for the merchandise. A 3 disc bluray set, a classics figure...endless tshirts.

Make it happen.

I'd also love to see him have a match against Taker and Punk..then finish his career witha HoF induction and maybe stay on air as an authority figure or maybe announcer.

A WWE produced dvd with a documentary/WWE made merchandise/Sting as a playable legend in a WWE2K game would be must haves,Inducted into the WWE HOF would be amazing!!

He may be older now But he still has some gas in the tank and makes use of it sometimes and so him vs people like Undertaker/Alberto Del Rio/CM Punk/Daniel Bryan/Brock Lesnar/John Cena&Randy Orton would be damn good!

Sting in MEM mode as a Raw or Smackdown GM would be f'n awesome!

I enjoyed it too. The matches were good, the feuds moved forward and the promos weren't bad. It was a solid Raw to me, a far cry from a few months ago.

I wonder if Taker can get a good match out of Sting at this point and wonder who else Sting would wrestle, if anyone?

My god, I'm liking how Orton's voice has some life to it again while he's giving promos.

I really hope RVD puts all his effort into his WWE comeback. He was phoning it in throughout most of his TNA run.

When does Sting's current TNA contract expire?

Would anyone have a problem with HBK coming out of retirement to have a match with Sting?

No but if Shawn comes back for one last match then my preferred opponent would be Daniel Bryan.

Sting vs Undertaker would be horrific. Should have been done a decade ago. What made Taker's last few wrestlemania matches great were his opponents. Neither can really carry a match any more. Just god awful.

RE: Raw

Didn't love it but didn't hate it. They furthered every storyline and they stuck to booking 101 (which is an upgrade to how they were in the past).

Didn't like the beginning of Daniel Bryan's promo. I worry he's starting to get to stuck on using the YES/NO chants. The beginning of that promo was like a kindergarten teacher asking his class obvious questions. I felt like he didn't need to "lead the witness" so to speak. Still lightyears ahead of where he was on the mic a year ago, just needs a little bit more tweaking, I think.

RE: Sting coming to the WWE

Um...YES YES YES YES YES.

I don't care that he's old. I don't care that the Undertaker dream match will have both of them beyond their prime. I don't care that he might have tarnished his legacy at TNA.

Wrestlemania 30: Sting vs. Undertaker on the undercard is BANK for me.

Now would be the time for him to come in. Enough time has passed since the closing of WCW that I don’t think he’d be buried for being a WCW guy. I’m still holding out hope that we’ll get at least a run similar to Goldberg’s so we can get a couple of those dream matches; like Sting vs. Undertaker.
