Vince Doesn't See Money in the Wrestling Thread

Sometimes while watching Impact I think how much they've improved in quality and as a company..But other times in the same episodes I still think they are just a glorified Indy promotion.
It's that lack of consistancy that hurts them most. They have the talent that fans will want to see, but they have a very inconsistent series of stories. If they were able to get this squared away and get some better advertising (or a better station to air on), they could eventually grow their fanbase. Hell, even I came back and am happy I did so (once I block out Taz).

Brian "Spanky" Kendrick is returning to Ring of Honor!
Ring of Honor Wrestling has announced that former WWE, TNA, and ROH star Brian "Spanky" Kendrick will be returning to the promotion for their 16-man tournament to crown a new ROH World Champion.
The following comes from ROHWrestling.com:
Yesterday it was announced that the ROH World Title had been vacated and a tournament to crown the new champion would begin in Providence, RI on July 27th and run throughout the summer until "Death Before Dishonor XI" weekend in Philadelphia. The first man entered into the tournament by Match Maker Nigel McGuinness was the top contender for the belt "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin and now ROHWrestling.com has been given the name of the second entrant into the field....

BRIAN KENDRICK!

It has been over three years since Kendrick has stepped into an ROH ring, since the "8th Anniversary Show" when he lost to Roderick Strong to be exact, and now he makes his return on August 3rd in Toronto with an opportunity to become the new World Champion at stake!

Kendrick, or Spanky as he was known then, does have some experience in this type of situation as he was one of the four men who competed in the legendary Iron Man Four Way at "Crowning A Champion" alongside Low Ki, Doug Williams, and Christopher Daniels. Spanky and Williams both scored -1 point in that fight Low Ki ultimately won but that was 11 years ago and Kendrick has since become an internationally traveled veteran of the ring wars.

With a surprise like Brian Kendrick announced as the 2nd entrant, who knows who else Nigel McGuinness could be in contact with to compete in this 16-man tournament? Check back with ROHWrestling.com EVERY DAY for more names as they get finalized and pick up your tickets for all the upcoming events right here!

Video proof reveals The American Wolves of Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards are in talks with both WWE and TNA.

So has Davey Richards woken up and got a clue or was he working me all this time with his "I'm a real pro-wrassler who wont go to WWE cos I'm REAL!" stuff? :awesome:

The interesting thing is that it seems like WWE and TNA want The American Wolves as a team, not Davey as a singles wrestler. I hope they pick WWE, the guys there right now in strong positions to help them outweigh TNA's structure.

Man, SD is gonna pale in comparison to all the Malenko/Mysterio I've watched this afternoon. Oooh, now we get some Jushin Liger! I am a happy NDX!

I might have to go to that ROH show in August at the Hammerstein if he's going to be there. I've always been a Kendrick fan. Wish he would get his **** together some and stick within a company. Easily could have bought him as WHC in WWE a while back.

Both.

AmWolves would be much better brought into either company as a MMA based tag team. As much as I like Eddie Edwards (and to an extent Davey Richards), I can't see them succeeding in the singles scene. At least, not any time soon. And I can see Edwards succeed more than Richards. And I'm not opposed to that. I would love to see AmWolves in TNA competing with Bad Influence or in WWE feuding with the Shield, Usos and PTP.

To me, TNA does the things wrong that NXT does right with their younger guys.

If I was running TNA, I would:

- Put less emphasis on The Hogans or fire them

- Do away with all the regurgitated Stable War angles.

- Fire just about EVERY member of Aces N Eights besides Mr.Anderson and The Dudleys.

- Take Bully Ray out of the title picture.

- Put more emphasis on The X Division, Robert Roode, Austin Aries, AJ Styles, Magnus, Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy etc, The Tag division and The Knockouts division.

- I'd also fire Robbie T, Jessie Godderz, and Robbie E.

These things alone should enhance the product incredibly.

This. All of this. It's simple, logical booking yet, for some reason, it's hard for them to understand.

It also doesn't occur to them that for the most part, their best talent is just that THEIR OWN TALENT not past stars. So why make them take the backseat?

For half a moment, Alberto Del Taco sounded like Jack Palance.

Shield: The Movie

starring:

Paul Dano as Dean Ambrose
Jason Momoa as Roman Reigns
Jason Schwartzman as Seth Rollins

Rollins gets stuck with Jason Schwartzman? That's cold, Pinky.

His promo totally reminded me of how Schwartzman delivers his lines, that's what inspired the cast. :hehe:

Yeah, Langston's got a thing for Kaitlyn and he will screw AJ out of the Divas title, come MITB.

Thought ADR's promo at the beginning of Smackdown was better than most of his promos but it's like sometimes he gets stuck at the end of sentences and has a hard time remembering the last word.

"I am the World Heavyweight..............champion."

Liked Ziggler's promo as well, textbook heel turning face. "I never claimed to be anything I'm not, but I'm still going to steal the show."

And Heyman on commentary is straight gold.

Dolph just proved that he is definitely not the "babyface" type.....at all!!!!!!!!

Summer and Fandango's dancing is improving.

If they are purposely making Bo annoying to create an obnoxious heel who thinks he's babyface then kudos to Triple H, Dusty, and everyone else working on NXT.

So he's going to become NXT's Cena? :whatever: ...or maybe he already is :oldrazz:

Well, Bo would probably work with faces because he is jealous of the cheers they get and he feels he's a true hero. Kind of like early Kurt Angle.

So WWE allowed Ziggler to cut a "face turn" promo without pandering to the crowd?....Nice

I think Bo needs a new finisher. That powerslam is pretty lacklustre.

I enjoyed SD, good opening promo between Punk and Bertie and their match was solid as well and I dug the added layer of the Punk/Heyman angle.

Dolph's promo was really good, he obviously didn't have the time Punk and Cena get but he got over the idea behind the Del Rio turn which is he's a phony, and I like that Dolph is keeping his cockiness on the mic and in the ring.

Orton vs Christian was a very good TV match, I loved how they played off their history with all of the counters. Orton really does look the most motivated he's been in 18 months.

The Shields promo on The Usos was good, I loved Ambrose line about lurking in the darkness with the briefcase. :D

AJ and Big E need to be kept together, they play off each other so well, I loved the little backstage segment between them.
