I thought he struck a similar pose though, not exactly, but similar. I'd have to watch again.

It's kinda close but not as iconic as it could be. I'd like to see him over the city like in this shot.

Issue 7 should be pretty sweet with Supes fighting Bizarro. Probably won't see it untill March though.

That Alex Ross shot is the remake from the first issue right? The origin of Superman issue or what not.

Thats from the run with Donner at the helm right?

Everything about the above pic is so wrong. We'll definately need WETA of ILM if that ever makes it to a live-action Supes film.

this shot must be in the sequel.

I agree DB. I think it is a must to include that shot, and knowing Singer it very well could happen, considering his pension for Alex Ross art. The scene in space was a tribute to Alex Ross art.

Singer seems to want to avoid blurring the lines between Clark and Superman, so I don't think we will. But Singer is quite fickle, so maybe that will change by the time the sequel comes along.

I don't think thats true, he had a scene in which Superman was wearing glasses and looking at himself in the mirror. They cut it, but it made it to filming. Also, as Clark he takes off his glasses as Reeve did and ponders telling Lois the truth.

This is where his fickleness comes in. Remember that he said he didn't intend on cutting any of the film. But near release, that changed. The original concept of the film did blur the lines between Clark and Supes, with a lot more scenes with Clark on the farm, speculating whether he should be Superman. There was also the scene with the suit in the briefcase, and of course the scene you mentioned. All of this was cut out and we got a film that portrays Superman as being very sure of himself.

Because Singer is fickle. The Return To Krypton scene cost millions, and he cut it at the last minute. He is prone to making massive changes.

That's pretty much it, though.

If it made it that far I don't know if you can really say he is opposed to it, he wouldn't have included it in his story to begin with or filmed it. I think it's more of a cause of changing the type of Superman we got. He actually took away Superman's multi-dimensional character traits by his less than stellar editing.

Why do you say that?

Because of the more realistic and toned down feel of SR. Superman sitting around on a cloud is a pretty fantastical image for Singer to make work. It would be a cool substitute for Supes floating in space though.
