Visualizing A Superman Reboot: Pictures Welcome

Since the entire movie was Routh trying to interact with Lois, the kid or Jimmy, yes it would be nice if he could act. The 5 minutes of action in the film was fine and his blank look worked fine for the "action" scenes.

LMAO :woot:

I never said Welling was a second coming. I just said he was better than Routh.

I don't know, haven't seen anything really from Routh, he wasn't given alot of lines.

Hmmm the critical reviews overall say otherwise. Check RT. I'd say he was well accepted.

He definately scores high on all the polls on SHH and BT among the Superman fans as well.

I never once said he wasn't accepted. I actually liked Routh, he was the only thing I liked about the film. I said he has no true acting ability, just a screen presence that exuded Superman. He looked like Reeves and that is what most critics would say.

You show me all the reviews comparing Routh to the next Deniro. For every review you show me where Routh is praised, I can show you 10 where he is panned for being mediocre to bad. I thought he was fine, but he won't be doing much else, or winning any Oscars.

You'd show some emotion too if Singer jumped on you................fear.

I'll never understand all the Routh bashing though.

He's been in only 1 film, whereas Welling has been showcased in many a season of Smallville - so it's no wonder some folk think Welling has 'access to more emotions' - it's simply because they've seen him in more emotional varying situations (and yet, if memory serves, even Welling has come under fire from certain fans for his lack of emotion range).

At least wait until 'The Man of Steel' - you might see more emotional range from Brandon.

I fail to see how people can assess the guys acting talent based just off of 1 movie (in which I thought he gave an impressive performance for a newcomer, despite the massive pressure of filling the really, really big shoes of CR).

Anyway, rant over. This isnt supposed to be a Routh/Welling flaming thread.

Anyone got any new, unbiased, pics? :oldrazz:

Crap, kryptonsite.com pulled the big pic I linked to so I only have that small version left:

That's what I meant with "30+ look".

I wish the watermark wasn't there... that could do well for a good manip.

:o Routh is not the problem! Its the lack of fun and adventure in Superman Returns that is the problem! Trust me, if those are fixed then the sequel is a monster hit waiting to happen! Oh, and fix the cape. It should actually be RED!:woot:

the ToyFare watermark... i wish it was gone so I could so some toy tweaks...

Oh, I'm sure I can find some pics without the watermark soon enough. There will be alot more showcased this week thanks to the NY Toyfair.

Donner style? You mean from his comic arc?

Donner style.

Hmm...I'm usually not very keen on these "artist" figures DC Direct cranks out, but I do see a little of Reeve AND Routh in the face on this one - like the colors too. Depending on what the finished release looks like, this might be a buy.

...please tell me there's a Non figure coming  - even if it don't look all that much like Jack O'Halloran, I think DC Direct finally hooked me with these two.

Heh, I like the teeth and hair. Not sure if I'll get him, but like Supes, this depends on what the released product finally looks like.

Is it just me or does the Zod figure look more like a Rave,Dub,House or Techno DJ than a super villian?

I get that vibe too.

It's those f***ing goggles, man.

If it werent for them, the design would be perfect. Can anyone clue me in - is there a specific purpose to them? or is it just to try look 'hip' and 'cool'?
