Yea Reeve was pumped as hell for Superman 3, but he looked akward in his costume. It seemed like the supersuit was to small for him.

The suit is amazing-looking, with relatively low trunks, a high, but not choking collar, a good, but not ridiculous build, and a weird sense of justice coming from the picture, somehow, maybe having to do with the slight glow behind him. The artist has done some incredible work on his site, when I saw that rendition of Superman I was geeked. I agree with The Bat, that is my favorite depiction of Superman yet. It's a very classic look, very determined face but he exudes a very comfortable almost paternal feeling. I would love to see that suit in action on screen.
