To expect studios to do something right is ridiculous, they only care about the money; what they can emulate and rip off prior to what's a so called success like the designs here that are a rip off of Bayformers. To expect them to do something creative is is joke too!Why do studios continue to destroy my childhood?

First look at the Concept Art. ^^^ Looks like one of the lions is attacking Lady Liberty.
What would you want in a Voltron flick and who do you hope they cast for the pilots?
So people are crying like it's the end of the world because it's on Earth or in America now?
Why do studios continue to destroy my childhood?
Of course they are.
Bunch of ****in' cry-babies.

I don't mind about earth so much, but New York City? Really? Is it just me, or is every single ****ing movie set in NYC these days? There better damn well be some desert, forest and mountain settings in this thing. I've been to New York, it's beautiful, it's larger than life, but man, I am getting really sick of it being a default setting for every single ****ing movie.
Will people think this is just some sort of Transformers rip-off...?

New York is probably the most recognizable city on Earth. it has many iconic buildings and structures. it's only logical to place apocalyptic movies in cities that are easily identifiable. NYC is popular, so naturally it will get more attention than other cities. while i sort of agree that NYC gets overused, i also understand WHY it gets used so much. you won't find anything quite as iconic as the Statue of Liberty in Hong Kong or LA.
As for the lion designs, I don't like them. I understand they can't go full-blocky, but they've gone too far in the other direction for me.
