Voltron: The Movie

This script is just wrong wrong...why change it...why?

I hate the Bayformers influence. If they are going with the concept art in the movie, then I won't be interested.

I don't mind the design. What offends me is the fact it's on earth.

The concept art is impressive, but I think this is one of those projects that'll get mentioned from time-to-time but will never end up actually happening.

Why do studios continue to destroy my childhood?

To expect studios to do something right is ridiculous, they only care about the money; what they can emulate and rip off prior to what's a so called success like the designs here that are a rip off of Bayformers. To expect them to do something creative is is joke too!

as for people complaining about doing something right...its all subjective...no one complains about Nolan's bat films

Wow,this movie looks like it is gonna be a big pile of crap.

So people are crying like it's the end of the world because it's on Earth or in America now?

I have no problem with the designs. I used to watch the CG show when I was a kid. I don't want a blocky robot looking thing. It would look lame.

I don't mind about earth so much, but New York City? Really? Is it just me, or is every single ****ing movie set in NYC these days? There better damn well be some desert, forest and mountain settings in this thing. I've been to New York, it's beautiful, it's larger than life, but man, I am getting really sick of it being a default setting for every single ****ing movie.

As for the lion designs, I don't like them. I understand they can't go full-blocky, but they've gone too far in the other direction for me.

diggin' the concept art. not FULLY diggin' the design of Voltron but also keep in mind that this is just concept art meant to pitch the idea, not necessarily the mechanics/inner workings of everything.

New York is probably the most recognizable city on Earth. it has many iconic buildings and structures. it's only logical to place apocalyptic movies in cities that are easily identifiable. NYC is popular, so naturally it will get more attention than other cities. while i sort of agree that NYC gets overused, i also understand WHY it gets used so much. you won't find anything quite as iconic as the Statue of Liberty in Hong Kong or LA.

Will people think this is just some sort of Transformers rip-off...?

i have a bad feeling people will. its not even a future prediction considering the comments here and the post site.

well earth I think it the same reason transformers is so human-heavy, it's probably just cheaper. also, I think it's important to keep some realism to anchor the CGI instead of full blown 100% CGI. no matter what people say, avatar looked like a freaking cartoon (a very nice one that is very realistic-looking, but still nothing more than a glorified-pixar cartoon).

NY is the most diverse city in the world. think about it. it's mini-world in one city. and you know there will be a slow-mo montage of people looking "up" into the distance, a cab driver, a suit, the hotdog guy.

 this too

i actually wouldn't have minded a full blocky. obviously they would have to adjust to proportions (I'm looking at you black lion), but I loved the full blocky. I felt the same way about the transformers. the machines went a little too complex.
