VileOne...I now remember what I was going to ask earlier. Did the script, when describing the characters, have any mention of their ages?? I'm really hoping they are in their late 20's early 30's. To me, that would help sell the movie better, than with teenagers. Cause that's where you'd have the problem of more comparisons of it with Power Rangers.

Yes. Hunk is described as in his 40's. Keith is described as 30's, which is why I use the Jason Statham comparison. Lance I believe is also 30's.

Pidge is a 10 year old homeless Japanese boy that only knows Japanese.

Allura I think is described as being in her 20's.

Look the Power Ranges thing is going to be there regardless. But you know, sometimes I think you just need to embrace the material and work the kinks out.

i think that's how it worked out for Transformers. admittedly i went to see the movie just for the robots, couldnt give a rats' arse about the actors and so long as the story wasnt cheesy i'd sit through the end. but that film turned out a lot better than expected.

I have optimistic hope. The script review i read made me optimistic about this. I'm hoping it will be good. I just dont think it will be transformer's good.

Ok, so what is the point of having them be in different age groups?? Why can't there be a typical "older" leader type, but they all be the same age. A 10 year old homeless boy?? It's post-apocolyptic, they're all pretty much homeless.

I guess I never did ask you about Voltron having his sword or not. It better be in it I hope. Is it described as anything cool. Or is it, like Voltron, made up of scraps?

Well I mean, Pidge is 10 years old, and he's an unaccompanied wild dog urchin. Flashbacks indicate he was abused by his father. They just come upon him in an abandoned area as I recall.

I think the sword does show up at the end. There is a point where they overhaul the lionbots and repaint them, and I assume that Voltron wouldn't look like junk when it transformed. I just thought the idea of the lionbots being made of junk, scrap, and spare parts is lame. It kind of takes away from their mythical quality.

As for the ages, I think they just wanted to get away from the old stuff as much as possible and not have them as late teens/early 20's kids.

That's what I think too. If this is about Voltron having a mythical quality, and it being the only hope for mankind. Then yeah, he needs to look epic, and not like something a bunch of people just threw together.

I guess, the only reason I would suggest a semi-older group of SE, is because I want it to be taken kinda seriously. Not just a bunch of teenagers saving the world, making it feel like "Thunderbirds"

The simple solution is to not make Thunderbirds or Speed Racer.

I always thought that the pilots with the exception of Pidge, were like in there late teens or early 20's. They havent even started filming yet, and I can already tell that this is going to be a disaster of immense proportions

Aside from the script being bad, really bad ... the ending with the fight between the Omega Robeast and Voltron sounds badass.

Has there been something else other than that posted on page 1? I thought the film sounded great from I read last year. I like the different cultures coming together to make the team. Adapting the cartoon would just be cheesy I feel. The one thing I was unsure of was the fact that this is happening on earth, rather than Arus, and if it would have been better to make it set there to reinforce the sci-fi element a tad more. Also, I wouldn't mind if the film mixed Voltron elements with original concepts from GoLion.

And as for being out of touch, Voltron aired in 2000 on Saturday mornings on Fox I think, was back on CN in 2006 and is on Boomerang now; so it might be fresh in a good number of younger viewer's minds.
