Was I in the wrong?

As long as Mark wants to be close friends with me, I will be close friends with Mark. Mark has no problem with what I did.

Because Mark asked me to come over and keep him company while Dustin and Robbie were at work, and Mark has every right to have someone over on his own.

You're making it all about you, and that needs to stop.....Mark wants ME around, I will do whatever, completely disregarding the other party (Dustin) because of want YOU want

cut that **** right out and remove yourself from the situation, if Mark asks you over, politely inform him that Dustin has stated he doesn't want you there and has threatened to call the police if I am there

and lets say you go over there, Dustin comes home, sees your car and calls the police before you all even know....next thing you know, the cops knock on the door and cite or possibly arrest you for trespassing

its what Id do if I told someone "you come here, Im calling the cops"

Not to mention...whose name is on the lease? If both of them are then legally they can't do anything about you being there. If it's just the boyfriend, you're screwed.

he said there are three people on the lease, Dustin (the guy who doesnt want him around being one of them) and if he were to call the police, they would err on the side of caution and either ask Nell to leave or make him leave

Oh, I'm sure they'd ask him to leave to avoid any further situation, but they can't legally make him do anything if Mark is also on the lease. It's just foolish to push the subject. Why can't Mark just go to his place and avoid the possible situation altogether?

How did Nell enter the situation?

Good intentions Schlosser, but something I learned a long time ago. People's perception of the situation is their truth. It is obvious to me that you meant well, and thought you were doing the right thing, but when you get into situations like that perception forms people's opinions......and there is NOTHING we can do about that.

It might have been better to do it in person, but I'm not in that situation, you are....and you thought that was fine.

I'm sorry that it looks like you might have lost a good friend, but sometimes it is better to leave things alone and let people find their own way. I might would have stayed the listener in that situation.
