Watchmen must-haves

The Watchmen must have.... a twelve part mini-series on the cable networks. There is no way this could be adapted into a movie without pissing on yet another of Alan Moore's great works.

Lovecraft, I think that's where they got their inspiration from anyway.
 
Ah. I'm fairly certain Moore got the idea from an old episode of The Outer Limits.

in Draft 3 of the Hayter script, after Nightowl kills Veidt, he goes to the computer panel where Veidt sent out his warnings to the world powers. He sends a message saying:

"And in the end.....the love you take...Is equal to the love you make."
