wb talking to ryan gosling to play jl batman

Hmm I always thought Gerard Butler would be an interesting choice but nobody seems to know who he is.

I never really read comic books actually, so it's not really a genre I'm familiar with. [But] I don't know if anyone would have me as a comic book hero. It's never really come across my path," was Gosling's initial response.

Not really. Young Hercules isn't a comic adaptation. It can be a comic but as Ryan said "It's never really come across my path." He's not full of himself; At least about this.

I aleays thought Ryan Gosling would be better suited for Captain America, instead of Batman.

Again, look at the previous postet examples (and don't even get me startet on Michael Keaton, a great Batman). A Batman with Vin Diesel body would be terrible. Batman is an agile guy, too much muscles slows down the body and ruins the agility. As you would know, as a personal trainer.

Not appreciating your sarcasm.

You obviously know absolutely nothing about the effect of weight training. The myth of large muscles impeding agility is completely bogus. Go watch some WWF wrestling(not my cup of tea) if you want examples of heavily muscled men performing some incredibly agile movements.

Go tell a world class gymnast that his heavily muscled upper torso impedes his agility.

Sure there are many muscle bound baffoons out there, with no atheletic ability. But that is in SPITE of their musculature, not BECAUSE of it.

Gosling starred as young Hercules. A show where he spent most of his time in a string tank top, and he still wasn't able to put on even the slightest muscle tone. (And don't say he was too young, teenagers can actually develop muscle much quicker than adults)

Even Gosling himself thinks he'd make a laughable Batman.

And don't get ME started on Keaton. I hated that thought of 5'9" 140 lb Batman. He's the whole reason we have these ridiculous muscle suits to begin with.

Gosling is the right heigh (6'1, Batman is 6'2) and with a bit more muscles his physiqe will be good enough. He is even taller then Bale. In The Notebook Gosling gained over 20 pounds (wich he had to loose again to play the younger character in the same film).

This is a recent shot of him (from this month):

He has gained notably weight and with som months of training (like Bale did before BB) he will gett enough muscle to play a more then decent Batman. :)

Compared to how Bale looks in The Dark Knight:

(But by the looks of it, it's not likely he'll get the part)

The perfect Wayne physique (although he should be a tad taller):

If they are going to recast Batman and not have Bale....then they should go with an older late 30's version Batman who would look and act more like a leader and instead of an actor trying to look like Bale ala Gosling.

Jim Caviezel would be a good choice.

That would be great, but probably not going to happen.

We can all blame Spiderman for these stupid studio execs casting preferences.

They seem to think that all these heroes are somehow interchangeable.

They don't understand that Spiderman was always a geeky kid under the mask. It wasn't some out of leftfield brilliant casting decision to go that route. It was true to the character.

That's why the same actor considered for Spiderman, is later considered for Batman (ex. Gylennhal). Two characters who are almost complete opposites under the mask.

It just shows their complete lack of respect and ignorance towards the source material.

You obviously know absolutely nothing about the effect of weight training.

I've was a wrestler for 10 years and have been a kickboxer for 17 and I personally gained a lot of weight in the navy (35 pounds), due to weight training. So your pretty much mistaken there. No surprise, as you should know that you know nothing about people you have never met. When you go all ethos in a discussion don't go complaining when it's adressed.

Go tell a world class gymnast that his heavily muscled upper torso impedes his agility.

I can call one of my previous trainers (two-times Olympic champion in wrestling) and ask him to call you up. Or maybe not.

Somehow I knew it would come to this, it always does when someone goes braging about their ethos and then attack people who they know nothing about. It's kinda pathetic and it's kinda pathetic that I now have to present my ethos because you go around and think you know things about people you have never met. Maybe you should take that as a lesson, next time you are thinking about telling someone you don't know squat about what they do or do not know.

Focus on the ball and not the player. It's not that hard if you just try. Peace out, look me up if your ever in Bergen, Norway and I'll buy you a beer ;)

And back on topic, yes they should go for actors that look a little older. Reeve was what, 25-26 when cast as Superman? But he looked a lot older and more like a man then Welling and Routh. Incidently he gained 30 pounds for the Superman role (he was trained by British weight-lifting champion David Prowse). Thats what Hollywood do, they hire in the real experts to train their skinny stars. Just look at this fella:

Gerald Butler would make a good Wayne.

The 300 cast trained for six weeks prior the start of filming. Butler did a lot more.

I'd rather Butler than those younger guys everyone is talking about.

Hmm I didn't even think of that, tis true Butler was in 300 so he has at least some fan recognition from that

Anyways I've always thought he would be a decent Batman/Wayne even though Bale was always my first choice.

if he were to be cast, wouldn't they just use his face and voice?

this is still a mo-cap film right?

No, its live-action....

Basically Superman/Batman should be 30-35 and everyone else should a little bit younger.... So Sups and Bats could have more of a presences.

Well...

Think about it logically.... its clearly a different suit from the BB one; so what else could it be?
