The Dark Knight WB to go with new marketing plan

hahahhahahahahaha
pushing the movie to winter?

hahahahhahahahahaha
you have to be joking. lets throw milions away because he is dead?

i never heard that a big factory stoped working(thousands of workers) because one worker was dead.

lets get realistic here.

With some video games they don't use the real actors, some they do. If there is a game to be released they will use some one else I'm sure.

well all the original actors were used in the BB game, one would asume theyre going to do something similar this time around

Well I'm just using the BB game as an example that one nearly had the entire main cast from the film..when the Dark Knight game is released I hope they continue the legacy of Heath and use his voice from bits and pieces of the film.

I really hope they continue the marketing by focusing on the Joker, it'd a damn shame to all the fans...even though part of me can understand it.

I agree with this...but you could of said it a little more civil, and not degrading other peoples thoughts.

But on topic that you put I agree they will not delay TDK at all. It will come out July 18th as planned.

The Transformers game had a few different/additional voices. But it's the movie I really care about, since I'm not really into games.

The only issue is possible voice-over stuff that wasn't finished. And while Ledger's voice is fairly unique in this, there are many talented voice-actors who can imitate that and get a close enough impression if needed.
I posted this concern yesterday and someone confirmed that the studio or a producer or whoever has repeated stated that he has finished all work for the movie...including his voice overs. I would say where we are **** out of luck is the video game...which is disappointing. But they could always just use dialogue from the movie, which is fine by me.

i am sorry.

The virals etc should switch to Harvey Dent, who is an even more enigmatic and cerebral character.

I agree. With this year being a election year, it would be really cool to have like some fake political ads for Dent.

The only thing I think WB should do is wait to start up any marketing until May. Three and a half months is plenty of time for people (outside his friends/family of course) to get over this. Then start up marketing with a new trailer attached to Iron Man, viral marketing after that, etc. There won't be any disresspect and people wouldn't be werided out by it.

well it pisses me of when i read ideas like: reshoot every ledger scene, push the movie to winter.

this makes zero sense and it would be throwing away money for nothing.

its not like ledger found a cure for AIDS,cancer,....
he was an actor and the movie is 5 months away.

I understand what you're saying. I mean, people kind of forget that this is the SECOND death on this film. And the stuntman who died is to me actually a bit harder to swallow because he died while trying to film this. When I'm going to watch this film, I'll always have in the back of my mind that someone died making this film.

And death is everywhere in all businesses. No business really stops if somoene dies really. Maybe for a day or two, but that's it. The world keeps on moving. I mean, my anticpation for the film is high as it's always been.

But I think what people are saying is that you could have phrased your words in a much more polite way.

People naturally overreact to "big news". If the film was puched back to December, the very same people would be grumbling by August.

I tried telling the other guy this, but in a different way. But I couldn't get through to him. Some people are just being a little ridiculous when in regards to the film.

not sure if how this all works but, all of his post production is done, so maybe that includes everything that he needed to do ie: TDK video game,

Oh yeah. There's really no reason to reshoot anything or post-pone the film. It's nearly half a year away as is.

Even if the guy who found a cure for AIDS or cancer died, you bet that his colleagues would be back at work the next day at lab, in order to honor his legacy.

Bingo.

His daughter is two years old, I doubt they're going to just tell her "your father was buck naked with pills when he died."

No one is asking you where you would want to be when something happened. Seriously, just unneeded comments Google.

Well i don't mind. The sooner the better for me and you., I was just trying to think about the people that matter the most. Never mind, move on. Money wins again.

Actually, no. Life wins again.

Look, I respect Heath too, and yes, a man's life/death is infinitely more important than a movie. However, the only people who would need a "long" time to get past Heath's death are those who were close to him. Almost the entire movie-going public does not fall into that category, so they will be fine seeing the film in July.

Heath's death is startling because a lot of people around the world followed his career, and Bat-fans especially were getting hyped about his TDK performance. But he was no more important a human being than anyone else, and when anyone else dies . . . life goes on. Including businesses. There's nothing wrong with that; that's as it should be.

(Note: when I say "get past Heath's death," I don't mean stop caring about the fact that he died. I just mean get back to routine, everyday living.)
