"Queen Hippolyta and the Amazonian's Casting Thread"

For the other amazons, I suggest Franka Potente, Eva Green, Mila Kunis and Asia Argento.

Immortality should not be confused with agelessness. A person can live forever but still reflect (to a far lesser degree) the passage of time. If we are basing DC's 'immortality look' on say for instance their Kingdom Come counterparts, Superman and Wonder Woman both look 'older' than their current young selves, carrying a maturer look to them. They are not 'petrified' immortal in terms of how vampires are often portrayed.

Hippolyta was already a mature 'cavewoman' when she was granted immortality by the Gods. They did not reverse time for her but rather ****** the aging process. At present she is suppose to be roughly about 32,000 years old. Casting a 'young looking' 40s actress I feel would deliver the quality of the character that we all hope to see Hippolyta portrayed as.
This is what makes Zeta-Jones and Connelly work for the role.

Through the miracle of modern technology and brilliant make-up artists, a number of the 'older' actresses we have cast for Hippolyta can easily look 10 years younger on film.
Precisely!
Someone already suggested Bullock. She would be a decent choice imo.

I can expand my suggestions for Hippolyta and give you Jamie Alexander and Lynn Collins too. How about that?

Bellucci would be ideal to me for Hippolyta.
Though since she has been blonde before Ill throw out Uma as a want.

Really Bellucci is perfect for the role.

Which is why she won't be cast. I'm guessing Sarah Silverman or Kristen Wiig get it.

Here is British actress Rachel Shelley. She's 44 and stands 5' 8". Best known for her work in 'The L Word', 'Ghost Whisperer' and 'Once Upon A Time'

DAMN! She looks mighty fine. I've not seen her in anything so can't judge her acting abilities.

I don't see why not. She's not so big of a name that she'd turn down a role like this... and i don't think she has anything else going on.

And Bellucci's done action/genre films before too, like Shoot 'Em Up and The Matrix Reloaded & Revolutions.

Some of the other names probably wouldn't be nearly as inclined to do a "summer blockbuster" type of movie....

I wouldn't mind Rachel Weisz but she's one of the last actresses I'd actually expect to see in a CBM. Though since so many respected A-list actors & actresses have started showing up in CBMs since Batman Begins, maybe that's not such a remote impossibility now....

^ I didn't remember seeing her in any recent CBMs so I had to look up her filmography, definitely had forgotten she was in Constantine (dang that was nearly 10 years ago now).

Would love to see her in another high-profile movie, she's one of my favorite A-list actresses. :hrt:

Does someone know what is the name of the amazons besides of the mentioned?
Thanks.

I suppose when Gal is Diana, the only way to make it consistent is to cast frail Amazonians.

Not really sure what you're rolling your eyes it. That was neither sarcasm nor irony.

Fantastic. You must be great at conversations Mr. Emoticon.

Thank you ;) 2 years from the movie to be released and you're assuming Wonder Woman is gonna be frail? that was the reason of my reaction. But to each its own.
