Two years ago I made a New Years resolution to try and watch at least one movie every day of the year....you can look back through this thread and see that I did much better than I had originally thought and averaged 2 or 3 per a day. Last year I made a resolution to watch more TV series...I didn't post that list in her (this is the film lounge) but I did pretty darn good on that (I watched 36 different complete season of various shows).

This year I made another resolution....I decided to put a harder twist on this one (one that may be pretty hard to do 100% effectively).....I will try and watch at least one movie a day...but they must go alphabetically. There are a couple of letters that it may be hard to have at the appointed time...but I will try. Most of the movies I will watch will be from my personal collection....so some letters such as Q may be hard to find. There are movies out there that begin with all the letters of the alphabet...but having access to them will be the trick.

I'm not going to start over and do it again, not because any of the letters were that hard to find, I actually pulled out enough from my collection to do each letter at least 10 times, but because it messed with me wanting to watch random movies. I have the ENCORE movie channels....so what do you do if you are wanting to watch movies in alphabetical order, you are on D, and a movie beginning with M is coming on (you record it for later)....but it messes up your rhythm.

I began to watch the old Bond films, until now i only watched the Craig ones, hearing so much about Goldfinger being the best Bond film i was a bit disapointed, didn't expect it to be so chesy and didn't really like the villain, however i was very surprised by From Russia with Love, Blofeld seemed very interesting and i prefered its score to Dr.No's and Goldfinger's.

I too am in the same boat as you. Until a month ago, I had only seen CR and Skyfall. I have began to watch the old Bonds. I'm on Moonraker now.

From Russia with Love is the best Bond movie. Connery for the win! t:

I wish Disney would stop pulling the "limited supply" crap with Blu-rays. I've been trying to find The Lion King on Blu-ray for over a year and it's either not available or insanely expensive.

Two years ago I made a New Years resolution to try and watch at least one movie every day of the year....you can look back through this thread and see that I did much better than I had originally thought and averaged 2 or 3 per a day.

Sounds like an interesting idea, mind if i borrow it?

This year I made another resolution....I decided to put a harder twist on this one (one that may be pretty hard to do 100% effectively).....I will try and watch at least one movie a day...but they must go alphabetically. There are a couple of letters that it may be hard to have at the appointed time...but I will try. Most of the movies I will watch will be from my personal collection....so some letters such as Q may be hard to find. There are movies out there that begin with all the letters of the alphabet...but having access to them will be the trick.

Not sure if animation is your thing, but for the next year can i recomend you tried some animated films and tv shows? Worldwide there are a lot of quality animated stories, many even geared towards adults. Some even a bit shocking if you're not accostumed to them.

I too am in the same boat as you. Until a month ago, I had only seen CR and Skyfall. I have began to watch the old Bonds. I'm on Moonraker now.

You're doing better than me, i stopped watching after The Spy who Loved me Simply haven't had the patience to go watch the series again, though i still plan to. I actually liked the small bits of continuity that were in the 8 first films, in the begining of Diamonds are Forever when Bond is going after Blofeld you can feel that it's personal.

I'm starting to get some more respect for Goldfinger than i did when i first saw it, it's definitelly one of the best from the Bond films i've seen, Thunderball also seemed very promising at the begining, and i liked the Mr.1, 2, etc bits, but i found the underwater sequences a little boring.

The one i'm looking the most forward to is Goldeneye, heard it was also one of the best.
