Except when they both get back to school, and the bully insists the suspension is Stash's fault (bully rule #1: its never their fault) and they're back to teachers not stopping the continued bullying. The unfortunate reality is that teachers (everywhere, always) refuse to stop any form of abuse until it becomes physical--and when it does they feel they are required to punish all parties, regardless of who threw the first punch. It is, of course, completely absurd--if someone throws a punch at you, what choice to you have but to respond? Hopefully you have parents who are more reasonable than the school system (which is not difficult to achieve).
The root of the problem is that teachers simply do not understand how to deal with bullying of any kind. Frankly, it's probably better for you that there was a physical confrontation. Even though you were suspended, at least this way the other individual was also dealt with. If there had been no fight--if he had simply continued to harass you verbally--then nothing would have been done about it, ever.
Man, I had forgotten how much high school blew lol, I think I blocked most of it out. I always laugh when people call high school the best days of a young persons life, if that's true, that persons leading a really sad life.
