Days of Future Past What about the music?

It's ironic that I mentioned Ramin Djawadi's "Iron Man" a few days ago, cause this score reminds me of that one a lot.

I think the new X-Men theme is at 1:49 and at 3:46 in B Roll IV that one gets repeated a lot throughout the 4 videos, it sounds cool, gets me pumped. But yeah I don't hear anything from the past there.

Wow. Someone claimed Newton Howard's GL score sounded like IM from the 30 sec samples released on Amazon. Now this. I really shouldn't be surprised by this since Henry Jackman comes from the same cloth as Djawadi. The MV/RC club. I hope the score is similar to Powell's and Ottman's (since his fit's Singer's X2 like a glove) in tone and sound. And not like the weak Harry Gregson-Williams X-men Origins: Wolverine score. While I'm at it and hopefully not like other generic MV/RC scores. All this praise I'm hearing up here about his work I'm hoping to be suprised like I was with Powell's X3 score.

are you friggin kidding me? if that stuff in the b roll behind the scenes footage is the score...and i'm guessing it is because we're told it is...then that s*** is all wrong for this movie. sorry, but other than a few things on the first video i'm not feeling it at all. thrashing metal guitars? a contemporary score for a movie set in the 60's? Look i'm excited to see this much more now that i've been reading these reviews but the music doesn't feel right at all.

Just wait until you hear it with the movie. You don't know how 'right' it feels if you haven't seen it.

It really has some similarities, it's very action-oriented (from what I hear), but I wouldn't compare it to the regrettable "Wolverine" score.

Yeah I would say that, but for itself is very listenable, I'm pretty sure people are gonna be humming the theme that's repeated in the b-rolls when they come out of the movie.

personnaly i like the magneto theme ! but it will be a very short soundtrack : 55min !!!!!!!:cmad:

^ Taking into account that the main theme will probably be used a lot, I think we won't miss any important cues.

I do too actually. I was expecting something a little more 60's sounding at first than something almost industrial rock (judging by the badass music on website and in trailers) but out of all the sample tracks I think Magneto is one of the better ones.

^ It's funny that right after the indrustrial rock menace minute, the film will probably segue into "Love Love" (which I gotta admit, has grown on me this past week).

Yes me too ! but it seems that a lot of composers are using rock in their composition... Too bad !

But i wait to hear everything before giving my opinion because sometimes samples does not reflect the score.

I'm really loving this soundtrack. Very bold.

-Track #1: Getting a very Narnia-meets-Iron-Man vibe from this, which is what some else already mentioned.

-Track #5: It almost seems to have a very gothic feel to it. I love it.

-Track #7: I can pretty much picture what happens along with this music.

-Track #9: Sebastian Shaw?

-Track #11: This track is pure Henry Jackson.

-Track #13: I just love the title of this track.

-Track #14: I'm guessing this is when Angel betrays the X-Men.

-Track #19: Is that dubstep I hear near the end? :woot:

-Track #20: Sounds like a final boss theme for a video game. Not that I'm complaining. Sounds pretty bad ass.

Good lord that music is awesome. Those bits feel more like the X-men than any of the previous scores to me. Im loving it.

For the record ive loved every X-score including wolvies. They are some of my all time favorites. This sounds like it could be the best of the bunch! I want FULL TRACKS!

I'm loving the samples--especially the lack of overt spoilers in the track titles (yes, I'm looking at you "Episode one")

So, I love how it jives here and there with the scores of the other films, but it's definitely it's own thing. And it's bold. I planned on buying it regardless of what I thought of the previews - there were some I really liked, some I liked and some I feel we just didn't get the jist of - it's like the movie; they want to give you the best parts when you experience the whole thing. But as far as samples go, I dig.

I just REALLY wish it was out before the movie. On itunes or something! These samples just aren't good enough!

you can hear the whole Magneto track in this new behind the scene video :

Sorry, Superhero Hype! rule says we can't link to that website.

- Bamf

but be very careful because there's a lot of spoiler !!!!! i warned you... ;)

I found that video elsewhere, and all i'll say is that the Magneto track is powerful stuff. Can't wait to see it incorporated during the film.

I am so eXcited and I just can't hide it! :D

You know it'll be much cheaper on amazon, right?
