Days of Future Past What about the music?

X3's score. But something in the same vein as X2 and X3 would be just fine with me:woot:

I was watching TV Spot 15 with all the main themes this morning, and I gotta admit that listening with X3's theme (the one from "Attack on Alcatraz") it just meshed perfectly, but just the mayhem from the final moments of "Suite from X2" were terrific. I gotta agree with you, but damn, we really need some snippets from Henry Jackman pronto.

I've enjoyed all of the X-Men's themes and scores the most of Marvel Movies. So I have no doubt First Class will have an Xcellent score too.

Other notable favorite Marvel Scores: The Incredible Hulk and P: War Zone.

To someone with only vague memories of the three soundtracks, all three main themes sound similar.

As for whether I'd go with Powell or Ottman..one reminds me of a bad movie, the other reminds me of a great movie.

Ottman it is then. Besides, Singer and Vaughn seem to be backing off from X3 in terms of continuity; more so than the first two films. I know sacrifices have to be made for an engaging story, but at the beginning of X3 Xavier had working legs (in a scene taking place during the 80's). At the end of First Class
he doesn't.

So for me, X3's score returning would be odd.

Craig Armstrong's score for TIH is so underappreciated is kinda sad, I freaking love it, I listen to "Favela Escape" constantly, and I also dig the love theme, and come on "Bruce goes home" with the tv theme, genius. Great score. "War Zone" was OK too. How about Ramin Djawadi's "Iron Man"?

I should also note that I myself am not unfamiliar with the three themes. I've heard them all many times over the past decade, but I'm guessing the reviewer hasn't. As such..I agree with whoever said a page back that they might just think First Class reprises old music when it really it's just a new, albeit similar, theme.

That was my first thought, but due to Vaughn and Jackman's history of using scores from other movies, and like you said, Singer's involvement, I wouldn't put it past them to at least use one of the old themes, even if it is for one scene.

Ah yes. I remember he did that with the theme from Sunshine in Kick-Ass (which made for a very good moment as well). Jackman tends to do very good original material as well..so the entire score will likely be very well rounded.

Truth be within you good sir.

I just have to ask, which bad movie does the X3 theme remind you of? Cause for me X3 kinda sounds like "Superman", not that I consider that one a bad movie, it just reminds me of it.

It reminds me of..drum roll [BLACKOUT]X3[/BLACKOUT], which I try not to think about. I find the third film to be unpleasant, despite Powell's strong score. Love X-Men and X2 though

It does sound like Superman though. It's a good theme, from a great composer.

^ HAHAHA, now I feel dumb, but I gotta say the X3 score has such a good place in my heart, that over the years I just separated it from the movie, as far as I know they're not related. Oh and don't worry about me, it is a bad movie.

I suppose that answers our question from yesterday. Jackman will be reusing music. Probably bits from X-Men and X2..I'm still not sure whether Powell's score will find its way in.

You really convinced me that no X3 bits would be involved, which, if you think about it, would be kinda like the last f-u to X3, and would completely prove that Vaughn only considers 1 and 2 canon. That is if X2 does really make it in.

That's badass if they do that!

People keep complaining about a lack of a consistent theme for these X-Men movies and I agree with them....Let's hope they will continue to use it in the sequels...

i think you can hear some of the score in these videos : http://www.**************.com/fansi...:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Should not have watched them. Why did I watch? Oh dear.

Great score though!

nOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

They took them down!!

Well, it was probably too spoilery..

Still up for me.

No returning music in there..that I can detect. Maybe By_Your_Command will be able to pick up some reprisals.

Regardless, sounds like it will be another great X-Men score.

Just got here and apparently the whole movie was released online via small clips, too bad I started this whole clip-abstinence thing on sunday.

Are the clips too spoilery?, I think I saw someone say that the first 30 seconds of one of those are spoiler-filled. Anyway if you say there are no returning themes I trust you, plus it's great to hear that the score sounds great.

To be completely honest, I was putting finishing touches on an essay..I just let the video play in the background for the music. If you do that you won't get spoiled and you can hear the score as well!

But from what I saw..it's just filming and stuff..nothing too spoilery..But again, if you're not sure..just wait it out one more week.

I'll put it in the background and ignore the images (loophole!), here I go.

It's ironic that I mentioned Ramin Djawadi's "Iron Man" a few days ago, cause this score reminds me of that one a lot.

I think the new X-Men theme is at 1:49 and at 3:46 in B Roll IV that one gets repeated a lot throughout the 4 videos, it sounds cool, gets me pumped. But yeah I don't hear anything from the past there.
