Since these threads are turning into "OMG this film is teh worst", I would like to talk about the things that we actually liked about the movie.

So what are some of the things you enjoyed in this film?

What do I like ? Idris Elba (he was fun and sympathetic)

The rider (the special effect were cooler than the first one)

The presence of Anthony Stewart Head and Christopher Lambert (even if it is more of a cameo in these cases)

some of the action scenes when the movie decide to turn into the mindless fun actioner (the "crane and missiles" scene, the Ghost Rider massacre of the demonic monks in the "ceremony" and the final car chase)

The CG was really good. I was really happy with how the look of GR turned out. The action was fun, it was nice being able to see GR actually kick ass

when ghost rider is on screen this movie is excellent. ghost rider actually has a personality in this movie. nic cage playing GR rather than a stunt man (like the last movie) really adds a lot.

Besides what you guys already mentioned, I liked the story about Zarathos. I didn't know that about him. The blue flames were really cool.

Oh I agree. When GR is on screen it's fantastic. He finally felt like the main character and not just a side-note to Johnny Blaze like he was in the first one.

Probably the few times that Nic Cage would go to his usual "Nic Cage" mode like freakish outbursts and quirky one-liners were kinda ok but I just wish he ate more jelly beans. *snicker*

I thought Lambert might of retired , i'm probably one fo the few people who got excited o see him in this.

I liked Cage's performance , the tone , camera work , animation sequences , humor , action , effects , and some of the supporting characters.

I liked the special effects and the dialouge for Johnny Blaze seemed a lot more character based. His lines seemed more like how Johnny Blaze would talk if one reads the comics. The only thing I really didnt like was just how something felt missing the whole time throughout the movie, just a bit empty I cant really explain it. But even if it was epic I still didnt want to spend the money for 3D but thats just me and my own hatred towards that format, it doesnt matter what movie I`m seeing I just hate 3D! (There was no 2D option)

Loved the way The Rider looked. And his bike. Loved Idris Elba. Thought the kid's mom was super hot. Dug most of the action. And I was amused by Cage's performance.

Yeah I even liked the final battle with Blackout, it was MILES ahead of the final fight with Blackheart in the first film.

I saw the film last night and I enjoyed it!! Nic gave a good performance! It had all the elements I would expect from a comic book film and in my opinion I felt l was watching a film adaption of a comic! I liked the animation effects and the way they handled GR - as opposed to recent comic book character films, where all they have done is used characters and forgotten the essence or style of that publication! Thumbs up to the movie! Although I felt the 3d was distracting at times!

^ Well I'm glad you liked it Vaibow.

Action scenes were a definite step above the first. Loved the CG and look of the darker GR. Elba was good.

Christophe Lambert (his real name since he is more french than american now) is still acting but mainly in french movies.

His gf Sophie Marceau (of James Bond fame) has directed him in two movies and he is mainly doing small indies french flicks nobody is going to see here. (btw Lambert is regarded as a huge april fool joke in France outside of Subway and Highlander (first movie only)).

Alot of people have been giving Whitworth's performance in this movie some grief, but I actually liked it and I was pretty impressed by him.

- The Action
- Johnny Blaze being truly cursed
- Ghost Rider just being this out of control vengeful spirit almost and just toying around like a cruel demon
- Most of the jokes
- Johnny Blaze's character arc
- All the characters we're just fun
- Ciarán Hinds as the Devil, a true schemer.
- Warrior Monks!
- Satanic Cults!
- Danny being a tough street kid

Ghost Rider and the Hellcycle looked good.
Blackout's design was good.

The rest sucked. Worst comic book movie ever, or at least near the very bottom.

The Ghost Rider fan in me is enraged.

Now that I think about it, the scene where Blackout takes out those Warrior Monks is pretty awesome.

I'm more of a lurker but I feel the need to actually express what I think about this movie. I went into the theater with the knowledge that it had 14% in Rotten Tomatoes and it was again Nic as GR, it was Harry's review at Ain't it Cool motivated me to give this movie a shot. Went with a friend who's only familiarity with the character is Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Anyways, we went in and by GOD. It was hilarious, not in a "it's so bad it's good", no, in a "this is awesome, stupidly awesome". I mean I didn't care about inconsistencies and illogical situations, I embraced them. I loved:
  • Nicholas Cage's insanity
  • Ghost Rider's look and behavior
  • The Mortal Kombat-esque carnage
  • The Story (simple AND entertaining, leaving room for characters to breathe)
  • Idris Elba
  • Kid was NOT an annoying whiny *****
  • Crazy floating spinning sideways The Grudgey Ghost Rider
  • Carrigan/Blackout
  • THE ****IN ENDING, it only missed a "YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" at the end.

I'm planning on seeing it again, maybe in 3D, and I really hope it doesn't do THAT bad at the box office, I think critics are just jumping in the "Too cool boat for GR and Nicholas Cage" hating.

INDEED! Lot's of insanity and pure fun.

I really enjoyed most of the movie. It isn't as bad as a lot of people are making it out to be, and it's not the worse Marvel movie ever, by far.

The Rider's look.
Blackout
The action
Nic Cage's acting
The Rider's personality
Kid wasn't annoying

It's a damn good fun movie, nothing serious, nothing amazing, but it's entertaining as Hell.

Extremely forgettable but not as terrible as I thought.

-The Rider (everything about him, even the snake stuff)
-Moreau
-Nick Cage

Besides that, Blackout was ok, the Devil was ok, the action was ok.... the rest generally wasn't.

Moreau. The Rider (most of the time). Moreau. Blackout.

Did I mention Moreau?
