We take turns. It's only fair; it IS his money.

ok, back on topic.... well from me any way :D lol

i'm enjoying young avengers, the ultimates, new avengers, house of m and astonishing x-men.

new avengers may not be as good as busiek and perez's run, but its getting better every issue. not enough for me to concede taht bendis can write teams (he can't!) though.

house of m's central premise isn't "oo, we're in an alternate timeline" or "we're in a alternate world" its that the real world has been changed. and i'm enjoying it. the last two issues look set to be good, with the ontroduction to the battle that we got at the end of the last issue.

young avengers is just... wow. i LOVE the teen titans over in dc. but this is better. young kids who want to be superheros, but the adults actually fight it. an explanation why marvel doesn't have sidekicks in issue one!! i love this comic.

astonishing x-men: whedon..... he wrote buffy (one of my all time favourate tv shows), he wrote angel (another one), he wrote firefly (and another!) and also Serenity (one of the best pictures i've seen in an age). And whats more, he can write the x-men. he's made them interesting to me again, which is something i never thought would happen after operation: zero tolerence.

the ultimates is a great magazine too. the characterisations are wonderful, the battles immense, and i love the cinematic feel to the whole project, add to that my favourate artist joining as of ultimates 3, and i'm looking forward to the future for the ultimates.

MAX Punisher is probably my second favorite book write now, I love how its drawn, I love the storyline and dialog, I love it I love it I love it.

Cable and Deadpool: Excellent book, it IS my favorite, the humor, the storyline, it all works for me.

Ultimate X-men: Normally, I detest this book and rarely buy or read it, but Magnetic North is working for me, and working well.

However, on another note-

I am not going to just sit here and piss about how lalalala the Marvel universe is, I have significant problems with a large number of their other titles, including, basically every X-title I can think of.

But thats just me, and as this thread is "Possitive" I will not go into further detail. So :P

Slight update - glad to see the thread moving along nicely!

I picked up six issues this week just gone;

New Avengers
Young Avengers
Sentry #1
Spider-Man House of M
Ultimate Iron Man
Ultimate Secret

LOVING both the Avengers titles - although a little annoyed to see Bendis' random placement of scenes and CONSTANT slow-boiling storylines.

Sentry #1 - Hmm. I liked the opening issue, but.. wasn't exactly GRIPPED by it. The artwork goes well with the book and I'm glad to see it was a SENTRY book and not a New Avengers, GUEST-STARRING THE SENTRY! book.

S-M:HOM - Liking the story although now, it's really starting to get confusing. Waid's doing a damn good job of keeping me coming back for more though!

UIM: Nice to see how Tony started out - GETTING HIS LEGS BURNT OFF IN A FURNACE!

ULTIMATE SECRET: Nice to see the interplay between Reed and Tony Stark, but I'm sad McNiven isn't drawing the whole series.

I picked up Sentry #2, and it's fast beocming onw of my favourite titles.
Lindy preferring Sentry over Bob? Not surprising, I guess, but nice to hear a character being so frank about it. Will be interesting to see what happens in the Negative Zone too...

I'm also enjoying the way Young Avengers is being handled, but my copy was a misassembled one and it'd missing some pages, while some are doubled. So i'll have to pop back into the shop next week i suppose!

also, I suppose I do like the whole Ronin mystery. Even after all the discussions and arguments, people are still unable to conclusively name the identity of Ronin (though I do think it's Stone)

kinda frustrating that we keep getting misled by BMB and Marvel. "It's not Daredevil" etc. etc.

???

The whole point of a mystery is to mislead you.

Yeah but I think the mystery should come from within the story, not from the outside.

'cause this thread is about the things you like, love, or generally feel positive about, in terms of Marvel comics.

I like that Neil Gaiman and Stephen King are writing titles for next year.

yeah it should provide Marvel with a few very different titles to read... I've never read a 'dark tower' story before but look forward to seeing what King does.

I kinda assumed he'd be takingover an existing Marvel character, though. Someone dark, like, uhh... Umm.. y'know that guy, err..... i dunno.

another shameless, nay, JOYFUL bumo. What are we loving!?

for me - looking forward to getting Civil War 4 and AXM 17 in the post on Friday morning :D
