What ideas do you think would be interesting to see but would also make the comic book or the character suck?

Like Finding out Wolverine's memory loss comes from his healing, that his mind is healing itself and it somehow makes him loose his past memories. That idea would be interesting but would also be a bad idea to use.

Didn't they do that in "The Logan Files" not too long ago? Im pretty sure they did :wow:

Oh they did? I thought I made that up myself. Well how did they handle it? I thought it might be a bad idea, maybe they did a good job with it.

They use that to explain deadpools mind alot and why he just keeps talking.

Using a piece of Thors hair to make a copy of him. As much as i'm liking this Civil War that was really really dumb IMO.

A comic where some bill is passed overnight which results in all those not conforming to be shipped to a negative zone.

One thing I can easily think of that has actually happened was the Eddie Brock Venom becoming a vigilante. I actually felt that the concept of him being a "lethal protector" anti-hero made sense and could have been very interesting to flesh him out as more than just a Spidey Revenge Seeker. Trust me, this opinion is rarer than finding people who liked the Clone Saga (and want Ben Rielly to return). The problem was that this premise, like many things in the 90's, was mishandled quite dramatically and the end result was overexposing Venom and doing all sorts of weird convelutted crap with him that led to him losing his appeal entirely, to the point where Brock was nearly killed off panel to hand his symbiote to ANOTHER mishandled villian, Scorpian.

So, an interesting idea led, basically, to Venom sucking. SPIDER-MAN 3 may be his last chance to reclaim the position he used to have in the Spidey lexicon by the early 90's (and had lost by the end of the 90's).

The Norman Osborn that returned post ASM 122 is a clone of the real deal and that MJ's memory of Norman tappin' Gwen was a b.s. memory implant. Oh yeah, Gwen's twins(ugh!!) were nothing more than creations using Osborn and Gwen's DNA.

I thought explaining why Wolverine lost his memory in such a concrete way would be bad, explaining too much and taking away the mystery. Plus it would suggest that in the future he would forget Alpha flight, the X-Men and everything happening now. It sort of dooms him to always forgetting everyone. Thats why I thought it might be a bad idea.

Dooming Deadpool to that fate makes more sence for some reason.

The Venom vigilante thing is a great example, it sounds good on paper, but was misshandled and turned out to be a bad idea. Sort of like the Clone Saga.

What happened with Norman Osbourne and Gwen Stacey, and what happened with the Gwen twins? I must have missed all that.

Yeah, dude, they already did that. A big part as to why he doesn't remember his childhood and adolecance is because it was so traumatic that he repressed most of it. The Weapon Plus program mentaly conditioning him just made it worse.

What I meant was that his memory loss actually came from his mutant healing power smoothing, or whatever, his brain getting rid of memories. Almost like his brain was trying to heal back to the way it was when he was born, like his healing was making his brain younger.
And I think that idea, sounds fun, but would actually mess up the character.

And they already did it. What you described is memory supression. Sometimes happens to victims of major traumatic events. With Wolverine, because of his healing factor, it's more likely to happen. At least when he was younger.

The Ultimen, a group of U.S sponsored superheroes. Except instead of no-names that the average public probally doesn't give a damn about, these are heroes people have heard of. All heroes have or had major ties to the government.

Captian Atom - US Air Force
Green Lantern (Captain Hal Jordan) - US Air Force
Arsenal - Checkmate
Nemesis - Department of Metahuman Affairs
Vixen - Suicide Squad
Manhunter - Department of Extranormal Operations
Atom Smasher - Suicide Squad
Black Lightning - Department of Education (Cabinet level)
Detective Chimp - Bureau of Amplified Animals/Republican Party

I had this idea that I wanted to move some of the heroes out of NY and came up with an idea that Daredevil would move to Chicago and deal with a police force that doesnt like vigilantes and a criminal element that hadnt dealt with superheroes before.

That's actually not a bad idea, by comic book logic not only is the rest of the world pretty much up for grabs for any supervillain, but NewYork should no longer be standing. :D :p

however people felt that DD shouldnt leave Hell's Kitchen and so I posted it asa bad idea

Spider-man, Young Avengers, Avengers, Punisher, Fantastic Four, etc.

Some one is bound to take care of Hells Kitchen. :p

I had posted the complete idea in the How would you do it thread. It had DD moving to Chicago during a mob war. While this is going on DD begins operating and the Police and public officials are against him. So not only does he have to fight criminals but he has to watch out for the police. On top of all that the reason he moves to Chi-town is because he takes over as D.A. and is asked to build a case against DD.

The idea came about while watching BB and getting a little upset at how quickly the cops went from Batman's adversaries to friends...yeah I know Gordon had a lot to do with it but if I did some of the stuff Batman did in that movie no amount of good will and helping out would clear me. So then I thought I wanted to tell the story of a hero who has nothing going for him. No alliance with the police....no other heroes helping. One man...one city and thats where the idea came from.
