I'm quiet and anti-social. I find it really difficult and sometimes almost impossible to find things to say to just make "small talk".

When my boyfriend was introducing me to his friends, almost all of them said I was "cute but quiet".

It really depends who I'm talking to really. I'll usually talk if I have something to contribute to the conversation, if I don't I'll just usually sit there until the topic changes. Sometimes I do tend to talk a bit about myself, but I also like to ask others questions so they're directly involved in the conversation, as well. Also, apparently I come off as intelligent when I talk. I suppose that's a good thing.

I'm a **** talker.

But no really. I like small talk or lengthy conversations, verbally only. I HATE short or long conversations in an IM. I don't really speak unless I'm asked a question or ask a question myself. I'm not really a public person so much anymore. So I really don't talk too much anymore. Only to family and when the few people call me on my phone. I guess from what my friends say, I mumble for the most part.

I don't like to talk at all. In fact, I prefer to be alone most of the time just to avoid having to interact with people. I'm painfully shy and self-conscious.

Personally I'm an adaptive talker. I can carry any type of conversation that's needed for the moment, and I can interact with any culture of people without seeming out of place.

It depends on who I'm with and what we're talking about.

When interfacing with the public, I'm overly-polite and I'm not *quite* as technical when I speak, though part of my job is to interpret scientific concepts for people.

When I'm having a discussion concerning science with my co-workers or my girlfriend, I get very technical.

When it's casual, I swear and I am usually less concerned with my grammar, but I don't let it go to hell.

When I'm high, it's a blend of short thoughts and long, drawn-out thoughts that tend to lose other people when they're stoned.

Usually, I speak the way I type: I avoid slang, and try to make use of a diverse vocabulary. I've been told a few times I have a, "way with words."

I don't know. It just...depends.

I like to observe what someone is saying and don't say anything unless I feel that I have to, or I just say it in my mind.

But I'm very polite to people I don't know. Like shop workers or people at restaurants. Only if they are polite to me mind.

People who are rude to me or aggressive to me in the pub or something I speak to them like **** and threaten them with the obligatory "COME ON THEN YOU C***!!!" or "**** off if you know what's good for ya you slag" or "Just please, **** off". I can be a peace maker too though. If one of my friends is getting a hard time I try to defuse the situation first. One of my trademarks is "Look mate, it's Friday night, everyone should be out having a good time, not getting into arguments"

To be people I know well like my friends and family I **** around with em, bit of playful banter. But I am a good person at heart (believe it or not) so when someone is feeling down or has problems I like to think I can be a great motivator and help. And there is nothing wrong with random, meaningless conversations. People who don't partake in this need to remove the bug from their arses. It's good to talk.

But, people who incessantly blabber on and on and on and on, repeating themselves over and over and over really piss me off. I heard you the first time you ass hat!

Sometimes I speak with dodgy accents randomly. Like Jamaican or Russian or Irish or something.

I do curse/swear a lot. So if you don't like that, go take a running ****ing jump you c***!
