The Amazing Spider-Man What Raimi Really Messed Up!

this whole thread is not accurate. It should be listed as what Sony and Marvel really messed up.

You all have to understand that yes, the director is indeed in charge of alot of things on film but, trust me that if the director of the film had 100 % complete control, we wouldnt have the studios force cut scenes because its not in thier budget.

anyone forget the news that jackman almost walked off set and that gavin hood was pissed off at tom rothman for changing the scenery on set ? That lauren had to fly her husband down to calm things down and give advice on what to do.

Ohh yeah and the reason we got galactus as a giant storm cloud was... ding ding ding.. not enough money in the budget. So who gets blamed for it, not the writer, not the studios, the director gets blamed.

ohh lets not forget about the comments that the director of babylon ad Mathieu Kassovitz said about NEVER working with fox again because of thier meddling with the movie ?

What I am happy about is that since disney bought marvel's shares they can now have the financial backing with marvel films.

According to your profile you were in Spider-Man 3 and the Incredible HULK. Who were you?

Hold on. Seriously. How old are you?
What does it matter? I probably wouldn't even tell you. You seem to cause alot of arguements on here, anyway. YOu'l rpobably say "Oh..oaky then" in a smartass type of way. I'm a teen.

I simply informed you on what a parody is because you clearly didn't know what one was. You said the vid looks like it's making fun of spidey 3 and I said, yes, that is what a parody is all about.

Also, why should TDK be parodied for things to be ok in your little world? SM3 was on the whole, a mess of a film and is rightfully subject to ridicule. There are also parodies of TDK but TDK is a superior film and doesn't have the obvious need to be parodied as much as SM3.
You weren't just "informing" me. You were being an ass. As for TDk, why shouldn't it be parodied? I thought parodies made fun of good and bad films.

SooOo, what are you saying? It's ok to make fun of Spidey 3 if you also make fun of TDK? Like, if you don't do both, on your bike?

Maybe he just found the funny with Spidey 3? Maybe he hasn't even seen TDK....

You lost me there, champ. I know you get a lil sore on this subject so I'll let it drop.
What I'm saying is that I have'nt seen many TDK parodies, but people are saying even amazing films have alot of parodies. That doesn't seem to be the case with TDK.

Now, I know lord of The Rings, Star Wars, etc, have parodies, but that's not what i'm trying ot get at.

Let it go people, you all are making me dizzy.

You need to calm down.

Spider-Man 3 was a film from which much was expected, and it failed to live up to that expectation, hence all the parodies and making fun of it. It was rushed, without any character developments, obnoxious and unintelligent scenes put there just for things to happen, without any logic or structure.
The dark Knight is a superior film in storytelling, psychology, symbolism, character developments, intelligent dialog and drama. There are no reasons why it should be parodied. I must admit, even though I like the film I find the voice-parody amusing, because it stressed one particular detail in the film. But you cannot make a parody plotwise with TDK, as you can with SM, because it particularly has little or none at all.
Now don't get me wrong, I like Spider-Man films, and I know that they could be much much better if certain things were changed, but I like them in general. Unlike most people I like Spider-Man 3 even though it has such mistakes and flows, and am eagerly awaiting that director's cut, which I think can make the film better. But even though I like the film I see it's errors and I am ok with people stressing them out and making fun of them. Maybe that will somehow influence the people behind these films and improve the sequel.

I was an extra in the incredible hulk and I dont have any pictures for it.

In spiderman 3 I was a frightened Bystander.

No idea, all I am hearing and this has been posted before on the net is that sony and marvel LOVED vanderbuilts concept of using two villians that would spark interest in the fans that they re-hired him to do the script for parts 5 and 6 with a blueprint for a reboot. Thats why when news broke out that tobey would be getting 50 mill for two back to back films plus time off with his kids and the story changed, thats when I knew that something wasnt right with vanderbuilts script.

My theory is that raimi and tobey is bumping heads with sony and marvel. I understand both sides of the arguments though. I am not going to trash sony and marvel for wanting to bring in the cash to keep the franchise alive on sony's end especially with disneys buyout going on and steve ditkos family doing a lawsuit on the marvel characters rights.

Dc already got deep sixed with the superman franchise so if anything they are going to try and cash in on all that they have got left. I think that this time sam and tobey want the right story and end it at the fourth one and let someone else take over.

Now I do want to make something very perfectly clear, it is not 100 % gaurenteed about venom and carnage being the main villians on vanderbuilts script. It's just what I have heard on my end and everyone else's. I mean it could be a ploy to get it out on the net to hide the real details or just a way to see the fans reactions. I am a firm believer in just waiting for the official announcements but, I know that many out there just either want answers or what they have heard. If I was directly involved with a film I would not be able to say a damn word about anything because it would be under contract. The thing is that with everything thats been going on in the past and from what people have been hearing, it all fits. Out of all of the villians in spider-man's rogue gallery venom and carnage seem to fit the bill as far as sparking the fans interest. Its also another reason as to why sam and tobey would said no to the first script because of the whole " lets stick to the original and classic villians storyline ". I totally respect that because if you are not experienced or familiar with the characters, its best to stay away from it.

Out of all of the directors I have spoken to and I am sure that those who have gotten the chance to meet him have noticed that he really cares about what the fans think and isnt one of those type of directors who shove fans off or defends themselves whenever something is brought up.

I used to think like everyone else that when a movie sucks its all of the directors fault but, from what I have learned thats just as dumb as blaming a player on not scoring a touchdown when you must rely on team effort to get the job done.

Like for example, I wouldnt put all of the glory to chris nolan for doing a terrific job on the dark knight. It was everyone on that crew that had different tasks that made the movie successful especially heath ledger who commited himself to the character that would drive any normal human being insane.

Its the same thing as well for comic books. I loved the arkham asylum storyline but, I was not a fan of the art work. If the art work was good in my opinion then I would be reading it alot and it would be on one of my top reading lists.

He's obviously Stan Lee. Those pictures he posted are a cover up.

no im not stan lee lol. I just run the daily bugle myspace page for fans who love being updated on movies instead of visiting a zillion different pages looking for news. If you also google the daily bugle myspace its the first link on that page. I will be at the ny big apple con as spider-man on my own time to help promote his election daze book. You can find the daily bugle page on his top list on his election daze page as well as the video we made for his book.

 hopefully Raimi is tryin to make sure he'll please not only the fans but the general audience for SM4, just like how he did for SM and SM2

its teh studios job to make sure that its for the masses. Raimi is an artist. if hes vision is not good enough for the masses and fans then he is not right for the job. a director should never make am movie for the masses.

I am hoping that your right and we will all find out after spider-man 4 is done. If this one is worse or just as good as the third then there are no excuses.... I got a bad feeling that there are alot of issues surrounding the fourth film and we should have had news about the villians or storyline by now especially when they start filming in a few months... I got worried when I found out they there will be no new announcements for the fourth film at the comic con and thats also when we heard that gary ross was re-writing the piece of garbage that david lindsay abaire wrote.

i know man :(, i guess the only thing we can do is hope for the best

Harry's arc. We spend 2 films exploring Harry Osborn's growing hatred towards Spider-Man and decent into madness/villany, and instead of becoming the Green Goblin, he becomes Goblin Skysurfer Extreme. In the end, he never truly becomes a villain, becoming some sort of skyboarding ninja hero.

Uncle Ben. His death is done and over with in Spidey 1. He retreads his death in Spidey 3, saying 'No wait, THIS GUY killed Uncle Ben.' Peter's response is exactly the same the viewer has when he finds this out. "Why weren't we told all this time?" Movie doesn't explain it. Captain Stacy just changes the subject and the movie switches to scene of Peter being angsty and emo.

That's a dumb thing to say. Almost all movies are made for the masses. That doesn't mean they can't pay tribute to fans.

Well either way, I think it's safe to say that the Lizard is the/one of the villains in Spider-Man 4.

Why would you say that is safe to say?

For all we know it could be Stilt Man.
