What should be done with Darkseid?

well darkseid wouldnt need to be a full cgi creation. A good person to person fight would look a whole of a heck better then a person fighting a cgi creation.

Well ,it may not have to be all CGI, youre right about that. But...i think Darkseid would work best as a foe for Supes.

A guy in a suit/makeup, plus CGI. Darkseid is a lot bigger than a man, so they'd have to CGI him to make him look bigger.
And yeah, cast Michael Ironside for the role (he voiced him in STAS). You wont find a better voice for it!
Holy crap you are right! It would be amazing! You are right as well... unfortunately.

If Michael Ironside is going to play him, then they might as well do him as a CG mocap creature. Ironside is getting old and I doubt he'd want to spent 8 hours in a makeup chair.

Its not like its a pressing matter and they start shooting tomorrow. So this is all technicalities. I dont know if he'll be CGI or a guy under makeup, but i know that Ironside has one of the greatest villain voices out there and it would be a pity if it went to waste.
I suppose he couldnt play Darkseid since i cant imagine him fighting at his age, so they could use a huge bodybuilder or something and dub Ironside over his voice. In the end, Darkseid is like twice the size of the average human so they'd have to use even a little CGI to enhance his size, so i dont know if they need Ironside behind the makeup, or behind a microphone.

peyton yea darksied would probably be best to use in a supes movie since that is what most fans/ even casual fans know him more from.

Thanx Webhead. WB could approach Dark Knight money if theu use darkseid in a Superman movie & do it correctly.

could be if they treat the character right and then market the hell out of the picture.

Should Darkseid appear as a villain in a Superman movie, a Justice League movie or a New Gods movie?

I would go with a Justice League movie, I don't think a Superman movie is an epic enough venue for Darkseid and I think there is a snowball's chance in hell they will make a New Gods movie, so that leaves a Justice League movie.

This should have been a poll.

I'd be completely amused if they hired James Earl Jones to voice Darkseid. Because it's completely obvious that's where part of Darth Vader is from.

yea wasnt darkseid created way before starwars was created by lucas. Also i believe his look came from doctor doom and sumari warriors.

Darkseid could be done with makeup and some great trick shots with the camera. Some image manipulation and CGI as well. Mostly just makeup and a body suit.

yea that is what i said to. Get a phsyical actor/stunt guy for the body. Then do a hellboy costume deal on it. Then have some cgi ehancements.

Man you guys are crazy. You're going to get The Thing from Fantastic Four if they do a guy in a suit for Darkseid. On a character like that cgi motion capture is the way to go. Gollum was an amazing character in the Lord of the Rings movies, and that was how many years ago? Look at what they did in Avatar. Now imagine what they'll be able to do by the time Darkseid actually shows up on screen. I do agree Michael Ironside should do the voice, he is great.

I dont see any problem with a actor in a posthestic suit with cgi enhancments at all for darkseid. A mix between the thing and hellboy could end up looking great if they take the time and effort and all that. Everything doesnt need to be motion cap/cgi creation.

IMO they should go the CG motion capture route. The technology available is perfectly adequate to make it work, and the alternatives would either be impractical or unimpressive. Also, if they use a CG Darkseid then it means that they can get Michael Ironside to reprise his role as his voice, which would kick all kinds of ass.

well even if they went with say a stunt actor in makeup/suit like thing-hellboy they could always go with someone else for his voice. Personally i would like to see the character done practically/in the flesh. Though yea motion cap/cgi has come a long long way now and he could be done very well in that stuff too. But i guess its all about if the character is used how much money they would have/want to spend on making the character.

It's not like Darkseid is one of the protagonists like in Hulk, where it's hard for audiences to empathize with CG characters. He's a villain and will be having a lot less screentime anyway, so it's a lot easier for them to get away with him being 100% CG.

well as i said i guess its all about how they do want to use the character.

It's doubtful we'll see him anytime soon (if ever). I seriously doubt WB has enough backbone to use a villain like him.

I know what i'd do.
I'd have Brainiac as the main villain in a reboot, with Lex in the background.
It would be discovered about midway through the film after a couple of confrontations between superman and brainiac, that brainiac is really working under someone else, someone even more powerful than he. Brainiac was sent to test the Earths defenses for an invasion.
We never really see who it is giving brainiac orders, but we hear his voice. A deep, booming voice.
At the end of the film, after Brainiac is finally defeated, we get to see who it is that we have been hearing. we see a large figure cloaked in shadow sitting on a throne on a distant, fiery, planet. We only see his outline, everthing else is dark. He looks up and all we see are two eyes glowing white in the darkness.

Motion capture with a blend of live action. voice, either Michael Ironside or Michael clarke Duncan.

Michael Clark Duncan does have the huge size to fill out the role. Not sure if he has the acting chops but.........he can surprise you at times.

MCD is a very solid actor in my opinion.

He did carry himself well in the Green Mile. So he has potential...& playing Darkseid he would not have to pull off the acting performance of the century. Just be believable.

Yea and if he was picked it would just be more for his height/presence and his deep voice in my mind. He could probably kill in the role.
