I'm going to go even further and just CALL that FACT.IMO, Hell will be filled with people who CALL themselves Muslims, Christians, and Jews.

Don't you know that everyone has a point?

More importantly I want you to ask yourself, WWJD? Would he attack Raybia's beliefs IN THIS MANNER? Jesus spoke with people and was able to show them what to believe by using his mannerism, his peculiarness, and his power. Are you doing/accomplishing any of this right now? He never beat up on people, and rarely raised his hands in anger. In fact he spoke adamantly against doing such things, or have you fogotten all that in your USAGE of him?
raybia said:No middle ground? That's a closed-minded position to hold nor is it factual. Mere speculation.
Regardless, its illogical to hold the position that everything belief we individually hold is a testimony that everyone else who holds a different belief is wrong.
Diversity of human is not a matter of someone being right and someone else being wrong.
Its about being open-minded enough to resist judging and consider the beliefs outside of our own, have an understanding on how and why others hold those beliefs and what lessons can be learned from it.
And guess what? This can be done without compromising your belief system.
Memphis Slim said:That's just a bunch of double talk and you know it. You don't have an answer. If your eternal soul's destination hinges on what or who you put your faith in, it matters very much who is right!!
Is it Muhammad & Allah or is it Jesus? It can't be both because they contradict each other strongly. And the bible tells us what Jesus said and how He lived. The Koran does not.
*laughs* What?? That almost makes NO sense, which would've been an accomplishment. When did I BASH christianity? And why didn't you reply to ANY of the points/questions I asked? Regardless of the title, anyone, with a brain, can clearly see what the article and therefore this thread is truly about.Memphis Slim said:Edit...No......why are you bashing Christianity?? Did a Christian cut off your loved one's head? Even the title of this thread is offensive!! It assume that something "is" wrong.
Punisher X just out right says that Christianity is a "MESSED UP" religion and gets away with that?? But let's not discuss other troubled religions. Especially Islam.
Memphis Slim said:That's sound sweet. But it is not logical. Jesus stand squarely opposed to the teaching of Muhammad on how one gets to heaven. There are even two different views on what heaven is like. Jesus declared himself to be God in Flesh. Islam teaches against such a thing. You cannot have it both ways.
There ain't enough "open-mindedness " to skirt around this issue, Raybia. And no, the minute you accept the other belief system, you have betrayed the other. I cannot love another woman other than my wife
and still be true. I cannot go north and south at the same time.
"Open-mindedness" is not the highest virtue. You are Muslim, I asssume....you mean to tell me that you accept Jesus as God and creator of heaven and earth? You accept His words that He is the only way to heaven?? You're open to that???
I'm finished here......this is going no where. But there is a strong bias on this board.

You have issues. You DO need help. Your judgement is clouded by anger and bias against Muslims. This thread was never even about Muslims until you made it into that.

Sorry that its not logical for you.
Jesus stand squarely opposed to the teaching of Muhammad on how one gets to heaven.
Your understanding of Jesus does.
There are even two different views on what heaven is like. Jesus declared himself to be God in Flesh. Islam teaches against such a thing. You cannot have it both ways.
I don't have it both ways. I only believe one way, but I would never try to force my beliefs on others nor condemn them. If a person is happy as a Christian, then I think it would be wrong to try and interfere with that. Muslims and Christians can co-exist and agree to disagree on certain religion concepts just like there are concepts that we also agree to agree on.
Also the view of heaven you have is based on your understanding of the Bible. I would suspect that other Christians hold different beliefs than the one that you hold.
There ain't enough "open-mindedness " to skirt around this issue, Raybia.
I know. I'm glad you finally admit that you are lacking the ability to be open-minded.
And no, the minute you accept the other belief system, you have betrayed the other. I cannot love another woman other than my wife
and still be true. I cannot go north and south at the same time.
A person CANNOT betray a belief system that they have not accepted and made a commitment towards.![]()
According to your logic, YOU have betrayed Islam.![]()
"Open-mindedness" is not the highest virtue.
It may not be the highest (nor did I claim it to be) but it is a virtue. Another virtue, is tolerance towards others. "For God sent His Son into the world not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
Christianity does not carry a message of intolerance or condemnation, but a message of reconciliation and salvation. However, you being a Christian would know already know that, right?
You are Muslim, I asssume....you mean to tell me that you accept Jesus as God and creator of heaven and earth?
I accept G-d as creator of the heavens and the earth. I accept Jesus as the son of Mary.
You accept His words that He is the only way to heaven?? You're open to that???
I accept that following his authentic teachings and example can lead a person to heaven. However, Heaven is not just a place but also a state of being. We can be in this state or out of it during our life on Earth.
I am open to that but I am closed to the idea that every person who doesn't accept Christianity as a religion is doomed for eternity to Hell. Sorry, but I'm just not an extermist.
I'm finished here......this is going no where.
Of course its not. Because your argument is futile and your attempts to sabotage this thread are not working, but don't quit on my account.
But there is a strong bias on this board.

But no. I'm saying that their perfect God revealed to them that the Indians of the Americas were the lost tribe of Israel and a Mormon geneticist used DNA to prove for a fact that there is no such recent relation between them and was promptly excommunicated for it.

Im thinking im going to have to take Memphis Slim's side in this. I must have missed his posts that are making everyone think he has anti muslim issues.
If you are in one religion and believe in one God, then you are in one religion and you believe in that one God.
Yes everyones entitled to their own opinions and their own faiths, but in order to just believe in one faith, you must deep down know that their other faiths are wrong.
I'm not saying people can't take elements from different religions and tolerate them and even learn from them.
I'm an Atheist, I don't believe Jesus was the son of a god, but I can't argue that his teachings havn't helped a lot of peoples lives and helped to shape our society in a positive way.
Christianity has helped a lot of people and been a big positive influence, but as an Atheist i can confidetly say, that deep down I know that theyre wrong and that I belive most faiths come from people wanting to belong or from people using them to try and control people.
I'm not saying people arent entitled to their own religions, I'm not saying that I can't learn a lot from their religions that can help me with my life, but im saying, as an Atheist I can admit that I know theyre wrong. Thats what faith is. If I didn't know I was right, that would just make me an Agnostic and not a true Atheist at all. If I said that I can still understand and accept other peoples religiongs anyway, id be being two faced.
As for the Afterlife.. there either is an afterlife, or there isnt. Somebodies wrong. Even if you have a different alternative of what happens in the afterlife then that still falls in to the "belief in an afterlife" category, which will be wrong if there actually isnt an afterlife.
no i believe.. thats what faith is all aboutkainedamo said:So you don't know, you only think.
