What The Hell Happened To Christianity?

Well then. :)

For any religion they'll think religions that are different are wrong. Mostly it's the way the teachings of the religion are. I see no reason in being accepting, but accepting to the point that you somehow undermine the faith and beliefs that you believe in then you've gone past tolerance and into changing your belief structure.

That's my take anyway, and everyone was going on about how Christians should be more accepting, and the article didn't point out what I thought was an important point of still standing by your beliefs.

Amen. Christians do have to draw the line at some point. Jesus tells us to. We can tolerate but somethings we have to stand against like gay marriage and immoral things. Jesus is Lord. The United States of America was founded upon christianity. I believe in the Constitution and I hope that America is ALWAYS "One Nation Under God"...."IN GOD WE TRUST". Do any of you ever look at the currency/dollar. It shows were we came from for crying out loud. Even on money we are planting to seed to those that in Hope in place of their despair/sorrow. God is an awesome God! I love Him soo much! :whatever:

:o X 1,000,000,000

I don't understand the problem here nor the reason for the insult. If I said something that doesn't make sense here, how about just directly and respectfully asking me instead of treating me like I'm stupid.

How many times have you read the Bible?

Once, and I reference various parts as I do research. How many time have you read the Qur'an?

There is nothing immoral about gay marriage.

Going along that line, you have no right to say the War in Iraq is 'wrong', because some people 'believe' it to be right and you have no right to say it's wrong.

You have no right to say that voting Democratic is wrong, because you believe it to be wrong.

So..where does it stop?

first of all, politics is'nt a belief system, the war in iraq is wrong because we(the people) were lied to under the assumption that iraq had WMDs. causing soldiers to die under what circumstances? fighting for are freedom? was it really in danger?

i also hate that fact that people think the soldiers are dying for our freedom, NO!! they are not, thier dying for the freedom of a country who citizens won't do squat in the first place.

yes there is, at least in other peoples eyes.

Which always gives me the urge to break out the big guns. Its a good thing I've been out to dinner and had a lot of wine or I would be. *shug* Hardwired to protect my family I suppose, when people tell me that my marriage is wrong I get indignant.

Mail me when I'm sober- I don't wanna run my mouth and make a fool of myself with half-constructed arguments. I'm only just thinking straight as it is. Freaking pancreas.

Microsoft bought it ?

Seriously I'm very un-religous,maybe it's got a bad rep with all the wackos that latch onto it to use as a cover to their bigotries and intolerance but as soon as i hear someone say they are very religious i want to distance myself

There seems to have been a guy named Jesus and i reckon he was probably just a good guy with some intelligent ideas that he tried to pass on and he gets the leg up on the other figures like him

Jesus is like the Hulk Hogan of religious guys

I'm surprised they haven't tried.

immoral is not the word to describe gay marriage if you're against it

i'm mostly neutral on the subject...leaning towards approving it

if God can forgive everyone for everything, why can't he accept homosexuals?

I tell little kids to smoke crack and hail satan.

I't's probably my fault:csad:

Sorry I'm not going to have this discussion b/c gay marriage is immoral and I stand against it. That is my stand point...Please do not argue about it. Keep your thoughts to yourself. Don't want to debate it. I have a Philosophy class totally gear toward debating gay marriage, abortion, war theory, utilitarianism. I dont need your opinion....I hear it everyday and I know the guidelines to how to debate and this is not the why. I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm not having this conversation. This is about "What happened to Christianity?" Not gay sexual orientation.

i find it funny that you were so quick to give YOUR opinion on the issue but when someone disagrees you "don't need (their) opinion" and say "keep your thoughts to yourself"

How often does Jesus condemn homosexuality and how often does he demand that people put all their enegry into helping the poor?

Hey you're the one asking the question. Go to church and you might find what you seek.

I'm sorry if I dont want to debate...I just begun Christmas Break and had many many many debates in my Philosophy courses and they way you want to debate isn't in proper guidelines that's why I won't have the debate with you. Chat is alright but I wont have the debate. Their must be judge to watch over the debate has a professional degree....You could call it a judge.

Honest question....How can you study philosophy and be so close minded?
