The Avengers What trailers will be with the Avengers

Just a little fun.
I love watching trailer it gets me excited to see the movie.
Any ways what trailers do you think will premier with the Avengers.
For me I am thinking
The Dark Knight Rises
Amazing Spider Man
Wreck it Ralph (since it is a Disney Blockbuster of November)

TASM will definitely have a new trailer ready in time for The Avengers. TDKR trailer has recently been confirmed so that's also a given.

Wreck-It-Ralph would have the right audience if it played in front of The Avengers, and I've been dying to see a trailer for that one. Not so sure, though. I can see Wreck-It-Ralph playing in front of Brave better than I can The Avengers.

Wreck-It Ralph is the movie about a Video Game character that starts jumping between other games in the arcade, right? With cameos from folks like Pac-man and Donkey Kong?

I'm so not going to go see the The Bourne Legacy. You can't have a Bourne movie with out Jason Bourne and Matt Damon.

You can if it is about the legacy of his character and the after effects on the intelligence/spy system. And when it has Renner and Norton? I think it had one of the best trailers i've seen in a while.

And people need to understand that "Bourne" is just a codename.

Not sure about the cameos but yeah that's the plot.

Talk of a third Amazing Spider-Man trailer being released soon has been in the buzz lately, and having it be attached to the Avengers would both smart and amazing.

I hope Marvel soaks WB big time. Disney needs to make some of those John Carter dollars back.

With the profit Marvel will make off WB and The Avengers, I can safely assume that John Carter is now in the rear-view mirror.

Still cost a guy his job though. Oh well, that's what happens when you make that dolt Taylor Kitsch the lead in your movie.

Well, to be fair too, Disney really dropped the ball on the marketing. Now, it wasn't Dark Shadows bad but compare JC to Battleship and you'll see a clear winner.

I personally think Kitsch did a fine job. And the movie itself really wasnt bad, it was well made for the most part and entertaining enough. It just had one of the worst marketing strategies i've ever seen for a big budget flick

I think with Dark Shadows, they are just betting on the Burton-Depp combo to sell it. People like seeing Depp play off-the -wall characters

I'm not saying he's a bad actor, i just don't think he's lead material. And with a movie like John Carter, i think you needed a bonafide, proven star to carry it, for the audience to invest in.

It had a terrible marketing campaign for sure, but i don't think that was the only reason it bombed.

Yep. I was surprised by how Disney fumbled in that department. They're marketing kings.

True, very true. The people loved the trailer (mostly the female audience) in the showings. However, I feel WB cut it too close to May, and that might have cost them.

I really loved the first half of the Dark Shadows trailer. But the second half just seemed a mess and didn't have that Burton/Depp charm.

I agree..there's a chance it gets rolled on by the Avengers but i think the female audience will keep it afloat

Yeah, it wasn't a terrible trailer. I laughed at some of Depp's antics but my eyes were solely meant for Eva in the trailer. :hrt:

I loved the part where he ripped the back of the TV off and is like "Reveal yourself, tiny songstress!"

That's a possibility. I think The Avengers will cream Dark Shadows but who knows? Perhaps the female demographic will keep Dark Shadows from bombing.

Ha! Me too.

The scene where Eva flashes him her breasts was another one.

As a fan of the original Dark shadows that trailer makes the movie look like an abomination; sorely disappointed in Depp and Burton. However I have heard some rumblings that the trailer is misleading wrt the overall tone of the film. but to me that cheesy humour is there regardless so = epic fail.

Wrt John Carter there are some rumblings that underhanded and ulterior motives were at play in the mishandling of that movies marketing.

Any details? The rumors I've heard have been more "Andrew Stanton was handed a blank check to handle marketing himself, proved incompetent at it."

I haven't heard a thing about a new trailer.

There's a third trailer coming for ASM, they just recently released a somewhat new Japanese one (with a fair share of footage from the second one.) So my guess is the american one will be with Avengers. Seeing as they're both Marvel properties I see it as a given, plus ASM needs all the exposure it can get right now, and Avengers tracking the way it is, there's no other movie that's suited better for an ASM trailer to be attached to.

I've gotten the idea that Stanton was getting too big and people (who wouldn't let this catastrophe happen) allowed the marketing to be mismanaged in order to bring him down.

This is pure heresay with no facts to back it up.

But really when the upper echelons at Disney saw the crappy marketing someone should have stepped in. It was a $250 million budget movie!

Stanton was allowed to run wild because John Lasseter of Pixar leveraged his clout to get his protege carte blanche. According to articles I read on Deadline and Vulture, Ross and other Disney execs were so focued on keeping Lasseter and Stanton happy that they knuckled under for everything, from the budget to the marketing to the choice of location for filming. Ross was probably the only person in the Disney hierarchy who could have said no to Lasseter, but he really didn't have the power to do so.
