The Dark Knight Rises

It came up on the telly, and of course I had to watch it once again. I probably have the same issues still as most fans seem to have, especially compaired to the excellent previous Nolan Bat-films. And I wont mentioned those negatives, it's been done to death. Let's leave it there.

However, I still love some stuff here. The performances of Michael Caine (IMHO, maybe the best on screen emotional exchanges between Alfred and Bruce), Gary Oldman in maybe his best Gordon performance, and Morgan Freeman is once again excellant as Lucius Fox.

And I also always thought Anne Hathaway was great as Selina Kyle, especially her early on scenes before even donning the Catwoman suit ("Oops.."). Cillian Murphy in a short comeback as some kind of outlaw judge is hilarious as well. I also early on really enjoyed what JGL did with his John Blake young serious cop character, but at the end, yeah..

Lots more to comment here. But I still enjoy major parts of this third offering from the Nolan TDK Saga, even though I'll of course always will prefer the previous ones.

This is basically a Insidious ripoff but I still liked it for the most part for the atmosphere, the performances and the entity itself being pretty creepy with some solid, practical makeup thrown in there as well.

This was entertaining but man were the majority of these characters pretty insufferable and unlikable. The kills were okay at best and the humor was hit and miss with me but I didn't find it boring.

A solid, well made anthology flick from the directors of Captain Marvel which is honestly pretty interesting IMO as well as the cast they got for this.

Very entertaining with genuine heart, not sure how I feel about the last 10 minutes. 🤔 my main takeaway is that I really enjoyed how these characters played off each other and I came out wanting to see them again, in their own lane against a more grounded threat, as opposed to a 30 character spectacle.

This was great and felt like the kind of early era MCU film that I've been really missing lately especially after how disappointing BNW was. The whole cast had great chemistry and when the action is onscreen it definitely delivers IMO and that third act was a nice change of pace from your typical superhero film.
