Tremors

While I know this is beloved I wasn't sure if I was gonna be a fan of it just going by a few clips I've seen but this was a fun time. I had to double-check to see if his name was in the credits somehow but this was very Spielbergian, more so with Jaws and Jurassic Park. They do a good balance of old-fashioned comedy with a creature feature from the 50s and I thought the directing and cinematography were wonderful. Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, and Finn Carter work really well together, and they know how to create some good banter between them. The creature effects were pretty good and gooey and they do a good job setting up suspense because just like Jaws you can't spot them. Overall, I had a fun time. It's a great creature feature with some cool effects.

JOHN CARPENTER'S THE FOG (1980) Starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Janet Leigh, Adrienne Barbeau, Tom Atkins, and Hal Holbrook. On the 100 year anniversary of their murder, the ghosts of a ship load of lepers come back for revenge against the ancestors of the townsmen who caused their sinking.

HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1959) Starring Vincent Price, Richard Long, Elisha Cook Jr, Carolyn Craig, and Carol Ohmart. A group of people are offered $10,000 if they spend the whole night in a haunted house. Things are not as they seem.

THE RAVEN (1963) Starring Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, Hazel Court, and Jack Nicholson. Using Edgar Allan Poe's poem THE RAVEN as a starting point, Writer/director/producer Roger Corman creates a wonderfully wacky tale of wizards, adultry, and revenge.
**EDIT**An interesting fact I forgot to put in earlier.....after watching this movie, Steve Ditko got the idea of creating DR. STRANGE for MARVEL COMICS. Strange is based on Vincent Price.

Definitely two of my all-time top ten horror films

First time watch and I can see why this caused such a commotion back in the day.

Creepy stuff.

9/10
I watched it when it was broadcast (Halloween 1992, if memory serves). The fallout was insane (I think some woman even tried to sue the BBC because her son committed suicide!). The use of such well-known, familiar TV presenters as real life husband and wife team Mike Smith and Sarah Greene, Craig Charles, and Michael freakin' Parkinson!!! was a master stroke. Bought the DVD a few years back and was pleasantly surprised at how well most of it held up.

this is my #1 guilty pleasure horror movie. I always enjoyed it and still do.
I always found it kind of randomly funny that Craig Kilborn, of all people, played himself in this.

Those kid actors also sold the thing, they were really good.

Funny you say that, actually watched a video afterwards of all his appearances and turns out that I missed a few.

Him amongst the crowd and inside the studio.
