MY FULL REVIEW
2.5/5

It came up on the telly. This was truly fascinating. As a non American I'm not aware of all the names turning up here, save for like Rubert Murdoch and maybe a few others (Trump lol). I was mostly interested because of the cast. However, whilst this beeing a story of sexual harrassment (and sexism/misogynism over all in very recent times) I also got fascinated early on about the whole business around a TV channel deeply connected to the American right wing.

Very different from my little country (and of course countless others) in which we have three TV channels providing a news service - two public TV channels and one commercial and they're all staying away from political views (well, at least in theory as far as they can). Hence my fascination here.

Theron, Kidman and Robbie of course delievered as expected. But I also loved Lithgow here. He's kinda underrated to me as he rarely gets the chance to do more heavy roles like in here. The make up department needs a nod too, I barely reckognized Theron at the beginning and Lithgow's transformation was excellent as well. This film is very much dialogue driven, but very well made over all. Nice to see Malcolm McDowell again in a small role (I guess his "Aussie accent" might be debatable in some communities though lol..)

- Witness meee! (some poor dude's last words meeting his fate, hoping it will echo in Valhalla)
- Mediooocre! (his pals' blunt response who consider that moment totally lame)

How convinient, another flick with Charlize Theron came up on the telly right after. I never hate surprisingly excellent TV scheduling like that. Also a perfect rewatch in waiting for the forthcoming Furiosa film. I remember watching The Road Warrior at the cinema in my late teens, and what an experience that was back then. I of course also remember the countless crappy copy cat films you could rent at the video stores during the years after.. This is still such a great sequel to that film (RIP Tina Turner , I loved you, but that film sadly doesn't count for me).

This was a great cinematic memory as well as well a few years ago. And considering the cinematography, with stuff here like the over all reddish tone of the film suddenly turns to blue at one point, I don't really get the point in watching this in a black and white version? But that's just me.
