GREYHOUND (2020) Starring Tom Hanks, Stephan Graham, Rob Morgan, and Elisabeth Shue. For me, it's one of or the best Tom Hanks movies in years, and it's the best WWII film in many years. Its story features a neglected area of the war in movies and tv series....the convoys of supply ships trying to make it from the United States to England without being destroyed by German U-boats.

 

[The Cat-Man]

Streaming-wise, I've been going through the Studio Ghibli catalogue and--for my 16th feature--watched The Cat Returns. It was an alright movie... perhaps a bit better than I was expecting. I just wish there was more of the human world to the story.

As far as theaters go, geez... 2 of my last 3 cinema stops were to see Godzilla-1, which is just... I can't say enough good things about that movie.

There's a decent concept for a thriller in here but it's lost in a weak script, lack of focus and a completely miscast Baldwin.

B-list Matthew McConaughey and his family are trapped on a rig, it's a movie about evil oil companies polluting the oceans masquerading as Mexican Meg mythology.

Starts off like it wants to be a deep psychological thriller, then unveils a cartoon villain who lacks a build up and credible explanation, Guy Pearce's accent choice is odd as well.

Easy to watch lighthearted fun that riffs off the superior Romancing the Stone, this is Sandra Bullock's bread & butter type of movie.

The Zone of Interest. Very haunting film that really plays on what you can't see, but know is happening right across from this family living in what is essentially their paradise.
