This made for a crazy double feature with Weapons but man this has been a really solid year for horror so far. I didn't love it as much as The Substance but other than the body horror stuff its nothing like that film anyways and overall I did enjoy it. Dave Franco and Alison Brie are great in this and have fantastic chemistry which isn't surprising considering they are a couple in real life. The body horror stuff in this is pretty great though and really effective and creepy at times.
I wasn't crazy about the ending or some of the more CGI heavy scenes though.
7.5/10
I enjoyed this way more than Barbarian despite the slow start. It's not as good as Sinners or Bring Her Back but it's definitely one of the best horror films of the year and now I really can't wait to see what Zach Creggers does next with Resident Evil.
Just ignore the lapses in logic and enjoy Van Damme in his pomp, he even has time to fit in a conjugal visit between unearthing a murder for organs ring and going 1 on 1 with a seemingly indestructible psychopath!

The Bad Guys 2 I really liked the last one, I LOVED this one even tho it is CGI I love that it reminds me of an 80s/90s anime specially from the human characters like the Chief (now Commissioner) I got a lot of Lupin the 3rd vibes specially from his recent CGI movie.
