Batman Begins What was the reaction in your theater to the ending?

But that describes most of Long Halloween as well.

The Dark Knight definitely put to rest any awful ideas that BB was a prequel.
I once had to correct someone who thought Batman Begins was a prequel and The Dark Knight was something entirely on it's own. He said something about sequels never being better than the original and I went down the usual list (The Empire Strikes Back, Terminator 2, etc) and when I said The Dark Knight, he said something along the lines of, "Well, can you really call The Dark Knight a sequel?" And to no surprise, he complained that they cast a white guy to play Green Lantern.

Now thinking of it, it seemed kind of goofy to assume Begins a prequel to the 89 film, cause the latter had the Bat-Signal after the death of Joker as a calling card from Batman
It just goes to show though how reboots often fly over the average movie goers heads. Even with the considerable gap between the old franchise and Begins.

I anticipate much confusion for the Spider-Man reboot.
Such confusion happened with the Hulk reboot, it shouldn't happen with Spider-Man's cause that dude is going to do origin things all over again

I never understood why people have such a difficult time grasping the idea of a reboot, but meh. What do ya do? As far as my reaction to the ending...goosebumps when the Joker card is revealed. I wasn't sure if there was going to be a sequel or not, but at that moment I started really, really hoping for one!

I think it's because most people don't follow movies so closely. They just see it's another Batman, Spider-man, or Hulk movie, and don't think twice about it.

Not a sound. Nothing. but there never is in England (we are a reserved lot).

The crowd I always encounter isnt talking. Its more like "Oh ****" or "wow" or someone standing up and screaming "get him" or "Yeah!"

The theater I went to was pretty silent throughout the film. The only reaction I heard was at the end when Lucius tells Mr Earle "Didn't you get the memo?" One guy laughed really hard at that, but the rest of the theater was completely silent.
