Guardians of the Galaxy What was YOUR favorite scene? SPOILERS!!!

Yondu and Rocket wasting Ravagers to "Come a Little Bit Closer"

Hell just about all of Yondu's scenes. He was the emotional core of the movie.

Baby Groot dancing to "Mr. Blue Sky"

The Sovereign chasing the Guardians

Starlord calling Rocket a trash panda

Every scene on the Ravanger's ship. Groot and the fin being the top.

The escape from the Ravenger's ship Yondu was showing such skill with that arrow. Man I wish he stuck around to meet Hawkeye in IWs. I think a cool scene could have been made with them talking arrows.

Star Lord blasting Ego after the reveal.

Rocket attacking Ravenger's

Rocket, Groot, and Yondu space jumping and seeing other planets and such.
Pretty much the same for me. I'd also add:
The scene when Yondu takes Peter up to Space & sacrificing himself, Howard the Duck, and the group shot of all 8 Guardians. "We're family"

The ending. Particularly the final shot with Rocket crying. This film had a surprising amount of weight for a comedy, and that ending was surprisingly somber and heartfelt. I never would have predicted in a million years that that would be the final shot of the film.

Almost forgot to mention this scene:

Yeah, that scene between Yondu and Rocket was fantastic as well.

I'm Mary Poppins Yall scene

The opening battle against that space monster with Baby Groot dancing
Rocket setting traps against the Ravagers
Yondu literally went into Beast Mode killing all the Ravagers
Yondu & Rocket bonding
Gamora & Nebula bonding
Drax & Mantis...bonding?
Star Lord vs Ego
Yondu's sacrifice
Yondu's funeral

and of course Teenage Groot and Stan Lee with the Watchers

Yeah, that's a big one alright. For me, Yondu and his arc made this film. I mean, I loved everything else, but I feel like it was the best story thread of all both in conception and execution.....

....because that arc continues into Rocket's little monologue at the end, where Peter realises he's talking about himself, and when Rocket cries,
it's because he's finally facing up to the truth about himself, thanks to Yondu

Seconded. Outside of Logan the most genuinely somber ending to any superhero movie that I can recall. The fireworks in space, Father And Son...good stuff.

Agreed. Especially with the Ravagers consisting of the old Guardians team turning up for the funeral.

The scene the got the biggest laugh from me and that I still think of..

Drax gagging in bed and when Mantis asks whats wrong he states the reason is he just thought of being intimate with her lol

Peter going Super Saiyan and battling Ego was the most exciting moment (and a runner up for the most emotional, when he experiences flashbacks to his friends).

The most emotional was without a doubt Yondu's death. Got them waterworks running good.

All the scenes that showed how big the MCU is.

Dimensional stuff, every scene with Ego, the Watchers, and Adam are all my favorites

Yeah, it was a very different ending than vol 1, but I felt uplifted as well as sad, because Yondu totally redeemed himself and despite their sadness they were celebrating his life - Logan, I felt was too bleak at the end - that final shot of Rocket crying is sad but also beautiful, as others have said.

Probably the best MCU ending to date.

That last shot of Rocket was so good.

I loved Gamora's fight scene with Nebula. I just freaking loved how Gamora took that giant machine gun and just unleashed on her like a badass.

Everything Yondu, he was so awesome in this movie from taking out the entire Ravager crew single-handedly to his heart to heart with Rocket to "I'M MARY POPPINS Y'ALL!" to sacrificing himself for Peter. And then the Ravager salute to him at the end, man what an ending, it was so emotional and visually gorgeous.

Baby Groot was adorable and I think he was used just the right amount, any more and it would have been too much. I loved it when he kept bringing back the wrong stuff when he was supposed to be stealing Yondu's spare fin. :woot: And his interaction with Drax was really funny. "Smaller, dumber Groot" :funny:

Drax was hilarious and I loved his interaction with Mantis who herself is a good addition to the team, she has chemistry with the other actors and I'm looking forward to seeing her again.

Kurt Russell is an absolute beast as Ego, I think he was a really great villain. I liked the fact that his actions were absolutely monstrous, but being an immortal Celestial who has existed for millions of years in solitude, he's so far removed from the idea of right and wrong that you almost can't judge him by the same standards. An interesting character and a great performance.

The only thing I'm slightly disappointed about was Ayesha. She was kinda advertised as being the main villain of this movie but she ended up as a minor antagonist at best that had about 10 minutes of screentime overall. I liked what we got (I love Debicki and Ayesha was a fun character) but I can't help but wish we got more. Oh well, at least it looks like she'll be back, and we've still got Hela as our first kickass primary female MCU villain later this year. :woot:

Rocket scene in the forest with the traps...couldn't stop laughing as those guys were being tossed around.

Every Drax scene with Mantis.

Stan Lee and the Watchers.

I'm Mary Poppins y'all

I loved Gamora's fight scene with Nebula. I just freaking loved how Gamora took that giant machine gun and just unleashed on her like a badass.
And that might be my favorite. Loved the whole sequence between them and every interaction they had. I appreciate how they didn't have Nebula just cave in and be the baby sister right away. She's still in "Get over it!" mode.

I also loved Peter and his dad playing catch. Heartwarming. Felt like a shoutout to Field of Dreams. And then Peter and Yondu at the end. So good.

I have too many favorite scenes to count but the playing catch one was cringe worthy to me, a bit too on the nose, haha

Same. Most of what they did worked for me but that moment was a little too much cheese factor.
