Liv Tyler, like Gwyneth Paltrow in in Iron Man, are the only parts of the cast that I am slightly disappointed with. Both of these chicks I find to be boring ass washed out actresses who's portrayals of anyone in films and their faces bore the ass off me.

I'm pretty sure I saw Funny Games 10 years ago. And Tim Roth wasn't in it.

Unless the director of the original film is getting paid by Americans to do a shot-for-shot remake of his own film. Years later. But that would be like "Be Kind Rewind" -- only without the quirky, DIY premise? Why would anyone want to be involved in something like that?

I'd much rather have an actress who's average-looking at best, yet can make you believe she really is Betty Ross and totally lose herself in the role than some wooden piece of no-talent eye candy who's only a step away from reading cue cards just off camera. Aggghh! Curse all Hollywood casting agent dumbasses who think good-looking is all that's required for a woman on screen. Ghost Rider was a sad example of this ******ed bimbo casting trend. Eva Mendez is attractive, but I wouldn't cast her in a 3rd grade Thanksgiving pageant.

Jessica Alba as Sue Storm is the ultimate example, I think.

I have no problem with Liv Tyler at all (or William Hurt for that matter) but the original Ross family was a cast that's gonna be hard to beat.

Agreed. Not to repeat what has been said so many times before, but particularly Sam Elliot as Ross is going to be really hard to beat.

That's a good rant but Liv Tyler is still the hotness and Eva Mendez is even hotter. Both these girls seem to do ok. They might not be Cate Blanchett but they still do an ok job with the roles they have portrayed.

They might have done okay on the casting couch, but that doesn't translate onto the big screen. Eva Mendez was HORRIBLE in Ghost Rider. It was ignorant to change her racial background from a red-haired white chick to a doe-eyed Mexican just to be more PC. Utter crap. More importantly, watching her "emote" was about as moving as watching Miss Piggy emote - or Clutch Cargo, for that matter. Sheesh. She's great ******* material, no doubt... but for acting, hire a damn actress. Leave tarts like Eva for the internet celeb nudie yank-off sites. Her biggest talents spent most of GR's running time trying to escape from her blouse.
