The Dark Knight What We Know So Far

tdk25.jpg

Ok, this is probably the Joker. Great chance. But it could be Scarecrow as well. From the one pic, it looks like he captures the fake Batmen at the parking garage. But yeah, probably Joker seeing as what happens to the leader of the fake batmen.

One thing i don't understand is, why all you guys are trying to piece the movie together bit by bit. It's out in June. Do you want to know exactly how the film will go before you see it?

I think you mean July.

And it's fun to speculate :p

Going by the pics we've seen of Mr. J, and holding with the notion that he NEVER reapplies the make-up, the movie may go like this:

Beginning:
Bank robbery(takes the mob's money)
Scarecrow and batfakes in parking garage.
Joker meets with the heads of the mob. They strike a deal "Kill the Batman"...."Ill give this town a criminal like they've never seen!"

Middle:
various scenes of Dent, rachel, bruce.batman tumbler is destroyed/suit.

Party scene, He threatens rachel
Chase scene with batpod
truck flipping over/standoff in the streets of gotham. Joker apprehended

Joker in holding cell with his goons.Batman beats the crap out of him.
Joker escapes (paint is washed/washing off his face while he is hanging out of the cop car in the trailer)

Assasination attempt(no make-up on, dressed as cop)
Barge threat with detonation of ferry.
Dent s scarred by mob(maybe working still for Joker)
Two Face's precense is now felt (bar scene, maroni dies in limo)

At least that's what I had in my head :)

After re-reading bkey's post, it likely is Joker.

July :cwink:

I don't have a problem knowing things about a movie before it comes out. For me, no matter how much I know about a movie, I am still blown away seeing it in theaters.

Yup, you can read everything about the film, and when you actually see it, it's totally diff!

Welcome to an Internet movie spoiler message board.

I don't know if this has been pointed out yet:

I haven't read it (only flipped thru it at the library) but in the comic book series Gotham Central there is a storyline in which The Joker assassinates the Mayor and then gives himself up to the police. It also looks as though a bunch of his henchmen (dressed as clowns) are arrested as well. That story ends with Joker in the hospital. Later in the series the GCPD destroys the bat signal.

All this to say that anyone wanting more info on potential story elements may want to pick up the Gotham Central collections as it looks like those were an inspiration for parts of TDK.

When Joker is arrested in the trailer, that's the Mayor that Gordon is talking to about knives and lint.

Just want to second that motion, I think TDK will have alot of 'Soft Targets' in it intentional or no. Maybe not exact plot points but definetly in feel and tone and they way people react to the Joker. It's great background reading for the movie and an excellent purchase in it's own right.

I've got 2 theories on 2 different parts of the movie.

1) The scene where Joker says "why so serious?", I think takes place at the bank that he robbed. All I have to go by that is that the lights in the bank as well as the lights in that one screencap below are exactly the same.

2) The explosion in the trailer, that takes place right after the "why so serious?" scene, may take place at the police station. My reasons are A) Joker apparently uses a bomb inside one of his henchmen to escape, and B) the buildings in the 2 images below have the same design, plus the police cars.

1.) I just watched it again, and the lights are slightly different. The ones in the pic above come to point at the bottom, while the ones in the bank are open-bottomed in the shape of a square.

2.) Yes - it's the same place. We've known this for a few months now :cwink:

Oh dang...I'm always too late. Oh well...at least I can feel good in nowing that my assumption was correct, err...half correct.

No problem :cwink:

If you haven't already, check the analysis in my sig - I don't keep track of who I've referred it to, so I wouldn't be surprised if I told you already; however, if you had already read it, you wouldn't have posted this... :ninja:

Wow The Battousai! That analyses was probably the greatest thing I've ever read on these boards. I even found some things that I clearly missed before. Thanks a bunch, and great job.

Hehe - I'm glad it helped you out

I'm doing one for the next trailer when it's finally released online :brucebat:

Someone said at one point that the new Scarecrow action figure has an odd orange and black face under the sack-mask he wears. I'm not sure what a tazer to the face would look like, but I have a stupid idea that in BB when Dawes got Crane in the face with her tazer the mask might have injured his face, and the electricity burning him. I think it was raining earlier in the film too, and electricity and water certainly don't mix.

Also, if someone hasn't pointed this out, (but I'm SURE they have) the Mayor is going to die during the course of the film. I'm guessing the Joker wasn't happy when Commishy jumped in, I'd expect Mr. J to have a backup plan.

It's even better to turn around to your friends and spoil all the little things when they least expect it. :hoboj:

With this new TDK poster, does anyone know what building is behind him burning? Gun to my head I would say GCPD HQ? Anyone got any other ideas?
