See...it's not that it is impossible to tell interesting stories featuring Peter married to MJ, it's that the current crew is incapable of telling good stories involving featuring Peter married to MJ.
They can ramble on about how the marriage limits the potential stories, but how does it really limit them?
Peter can't go on dates and get into relationships? So? What is the onvious ending to a relationship? It'll either end, or it won't. Either way, it's more realistic to have him married from now on, than it is for him to enter a hundred more dead-end relationships that ALL end because "He is Spider-Man, and the woman's life will forever be in jeapordy". Wow...that hasn't been rehashed to death in 2 movies, countless comics, and even in the Ultimate Universe.
You almost have to wonder if anyone at Marvel is even married. Being married, myself, there are tons of quirky stories you could explore. Have Peter and MJ argue about meaningless crap, make-up, and laugh about it. Make it 3 issues. Ta-da!!! You can have them working different times of the day, and hence, they don't get to see each other for a week or so, and Peter finds a way to see her on his lunch break or something. Have Mary Jane's experiences throughout the day be things where SHE deals with her problems, and maybe even gives Peter some helpful advice about how to deal with Spidey problems and the like.
I swear, it's not that hard to write a marriage, people. Hell, just write Spidey's marriage like any other marriage, and throw in some superheroing...that's how Spider-Man used to be. Peter's normal life and the problems he faced....plus some superheroing.
Dammit, Marvel, just give me a call and I'll fix this crap-fest. Argh.
