hippy fascist said:yes, but only if they were the baby killing fascist type. I think this is a reasonable comparisson for the spider-man situation so yes I would, I don't want a retcon, they've forgotten the new powers pretty much which I can accept but for the love of god leave mj alone.
He probabably has no intention of killing mj but keeps dropping hints in order to keep the chatter going about the books online therefore providing mass free advertising for spidey. Oh god we're all just helping the machine along....
I'm gonna get my head chopped off for this but...TheVileOne said:It's really not looking good for MJ. I'm praying it's fake.
Also, I hate Joe Quesada. Even if this isn't the real deal.
You guy's react a bit too much to what Joey Q says at times.
If you really wanted to set the Internet a blaze, you'd say you were firing Slott over repeatly turning his scripts in late. (And let's not put the whammy on one of Marvel's best writers, shall we? Just thinking like this makes me nervous...)SpideyInATree said:Thanks for the PM, MyPokerShirt. I just think my monitor is sucking big time because even after you blew it up I still couldn't make it out even though I knew what it said, heh.
Either way. Whether it's the elseworld mini or in the regular universe. It'll be good to see the red head get the axe.
If I were Joe Quesada I'd really mess with the fans minds BIG TIME. On my weekly Cup O Joe Q and A with Newsarama I'd start saying stuff like, "Next year we'll be starting up a storyline called 'Sins Returned'. Gabe and Sarah are BACK! And they're looking for Peter Parker's BLOOD! And what does HARRY OSBORN HAVE TO DO WITH IT?!?! Oh yeah, and I'm firing Dan Slott because he's a hack".

SpideyInATree said:And then he'll be writing The Amazing Spider-Man and he'll kill Deb Whitman.
Doc Ock said:Is that definite??
...................................or MJSpideyInATree said:No, heh. But in the Wizard interview that Slott had with Bendis he mentioned that his dream is to one day work on Amazing Spider-Man. And he said that the first thing he'd do was kill someone to show that he wasn't playing around, and that it'd probably be Deb Whitman.

hippy fascist said:So that's the question. Do we sacrifice MJ to the fat gods at marvel in exchange for the rapture of slott on ASM or do we endure JMS just to keep mj safe...you decide!!!!!

Since when would I kill off MJ?
Hello...?
Seriously? I don't think I'd ever have the ***** to bump off a classic Lee/Romita character. (Technically a Lee/Ditko character if you count the time that Ditko drew MJ with her face blocked by a vase filled with flowers...)
I mean, let's face it, M(onkey) J(oe) is one thing... But M(ary) J(ane) is a whole different MJ altogether!

The real question is, would you rather read a well-written Spider-Man comic without MJ or a poorly written one with her?
Eye Doc said:The answer to your question would be choice number 1.
However, I think a lot of people in the pro-MJ camp believe that you can have a well written Spider-Man comic WITH MJ.
Joe Quesada seems to believe that the pro-MJ opinion is not a valid one. With the way Spidey has been handled under Joe's and Alonso's watch, I've seen nothing to make me believe Spider-Man stories would significantly improve if he were suddenly single. And in today's comic market, if Peter were single I doubt you see a significant/sustainable sales increase.
