Comics Would you cancel all Spider-Man books if they killed off MJ?

I just can't believe there is a serious, hardcore debate on Gwen Stacy being a ****e and a ****.

When, lets just end this right now.

It was a dumb story.

It was a sucky story.

It didn't make any sense.

It didn't fit into continuity even though they tried DESPERATELY to make it fit. It was impossible for her to have nailed Osborn, had the kids, and then come back to be KILLED by Osborn. IMPOSSIBLE.

So, lets just do what needs to be done here. Lets just freakin' forget about this abomination of a storyline, pretend it never happened, and move on with our lives. And, no, Gwen Stacy isn't a **** or a ****e or a tramp or a fluzzy or any other adjective you can come up with that means she lays down for any man. She was a sweet girl who met the right man and was killed because her boyfriend's arch nemesis was a crackpot. Period. End of story.

Sins what now? That's right folks. Erased from your memory!

I'm going to end this argument now because you STILL haven't answered my questions. I've asked you, like, 3 seperate times and you still haven't answered.

Sexual promiscuity means sleeping with more than ONE guy just ONCE.

**** is a pejorative term for a person (usually female) who is more sexually promiscuous than is deemed socially acceptable.

You realize that the above definition doesn't necessarily have to be about numbers of sexual partners don't you?

Being "more sexually promiscuous than is deemed socially acceptable" can be with one person (Although granted I'm not happy with "deemed socially acceptable") if under the circumstances established in Sins Past.

Plain and simple- Gwen was involved with Peter, said she loved him, wanted to marry him, was angry at him for appearing to not want to marry her. Was angry at him any time he made any appearances of interest in MJ or anyone else. Yet- She slept with another man, got pregnant, carried the pregnancy to term, and lied to Peter the whole time- then was expecting Peter to care for the children.

I don't see how you could raise this behavior above what we have accepted as being the negative terms of "****" or "****e". I mean yeah- in our current society, for some people being labelled **** or ****e is a positive term that they wear like a badge of honor. The Jerry Springer circuit thinks its hip to screw around or have kids by and with multiple partners.

But make no mistake my friend- while you (And I ) may know women who may have engaged in such actions, and it was merely a mistake of judgement- it's how they deal with the events that decide what label is applied. In SP Gwen not only slept with Norman (Which may be forgiveable) but did so with no protection- got pregnant and lied to Peter the whole time. Didn't allow him to know the truth and thus make his decision about the relationship. The human heart and mind are nothing to be toyed with. Everyday we see examples of just what that can lead to. And she wasn't going to tell Peter until her back was against the wall.

But again- all of this is what makes SP so laughable as to not being able to accept it as real. Gwen was established early on as being someone who was both truthful and brave. She stood up and did what was right despite the circumstances. So no, she wouldn't have engaged in the actions that SP say she would have.

And BTW- Sins Past also paints MJ as a lying, selfish, biocth that put her own happiness above the safety of two innocent children, so she doesn't come out of that storyline unscathed either.

Maybe I'm missing something but all that picture looks like to me is a beat up Spider-Man hugging a rock. Unless that rock grants him magical retcon powers or something.

My first instinct was that it wasn't a real pic, then I thought the art looked very similar to Spider-Man: Reign. I jumped on you quick, because I know what it feels like to click on a link, and have something major spoiled on you that you weren't expecting at all.

It's not enough to simply say spoiler. Because that could mean anything. It could mean you just read the latest Spidey comic, or something like that. What I would have done, if I were you, is say "Hey guys, I stumbled upon something here that's pretty major news. It's a pretty big spoiler. Seriously, if you don't want someting BIG spoiled on ya, and this is BIG, don't click the link!". "Spoiler alert! Open at own risk!" is too vague.

Although why is everyone convinced its from Reign. It's preview art, doesnt have to be a cover, could be the same artist. Anything. There's no saying where it's from apart from the anonymous source he has. I really think it's real.

Yea if you compare the panels from Spider-man: Reign and that Pic...it's almost the exact same style. It probably is a leak by JQ. He loves doing things like this.
