What would it take for you to cancel Marvel books?

if they started printing naked fat chicks doing it on the inside of every cover then i'd havta drop them. and only then... wait, fat dudes doing it too.

Super Skrull was a perfect example for me of good writing winning out over bad art. The art did in fact suck, but, the story was great.

All it would take is another SinsPast/the Other story arc and I'm gone.

Ive heard good things, but I really had no interest in a Super Skrull mini.

Debateable.

I don't think so. I mean, I look at what was recently done with a character like Catman. Lamest of the Lame for years. Good writer comes along, boom, instant badass. On the other hand, you got the Awesome Android. For the most part, lame super strong robot. Slott comes in, puts a little spit shine on him, boom, great comedic sub character. There is no doubt in my mind the same could be done for so called lame characters everywhere, from Hypno Hustler to Rainbow Rider, as long as you got a good creative team with a good idea to make them more appealing.

I try to stick with writing when the art is bad, but sometimes the art is such a big part of the story telling process that if the artist has totally gotten it wrong, I just can't be bothered to follow the story :(

I've done that before. I dropped Uncanny X-Men after House of M because I couldn't stand Bachalo, and didn't pick it back up until the creative team switch. Thankfully, he's somewhat cleaned up his art a bit since he started on just X-Men since I have to get that title.

Marvel is really screwing over Spider-Man :(

You don't have to go badass. Just take advantage of the inherent cheesiness of the character. If he can't be a serious threat, then he would make a great comedic foil.

Essentially he becomes Paste Pot Pete, a character just there to have SPider-Man laugh at him. Hes a bad character, and all you could do with him is make him a big joke.

Art has never been a problem for me.
If it IS bad then I ignore the drawqings for the most part and focus primarily on the word bubbles. This is something I seldom have to do though, since it would take some really decrepit art to make me ignore it.

Heck..... last time I've done this was while I was reading the xfactor civil war tie ins.

And yet, Paste Pot Pete became the Trapster, a villain that went form dude with a crappy name to quite a capable merc.

And even then, whats wrong with a character being a big joke? Does everybody have to be this uber serious threat? Lets make Crazy Quilt a serial killer who cuts people up and makes flesh blankets out of them. No, sometimes, people need a laugh, or sometimes you can show a guy whose so much of a loser that you feel sorry for him. Like how Captain Boomerang was handled in Identity Crisis.

Id read that.

I know, when I thought of that I was like, that's actually pretty good.

Arrogant ass.

Come on man, I have the nerve to have a screen name declaring myself an egyptian god of death. Of course I'm an arrogant ass.

And I will too if I ever see those godawful stingers again.

Sad thing is we probably won't see them again, but they signify one of the many screw ups that have been associated with the spiderman franchise thus far.

i honestly think that they screw any charecter who has more than two titles. i mean, they threw so many good stories in the 90's for spidey, so damn fast, that they have nothing going for it now. im glad they are f-ing him up. i hope the dig a whole so bad, that they have to start from scratch... alone, roaming the streets, and looking for redemption.
otherwise, i would stay doing my part and not buy a single spidey issue.

No.
I just think his current writers suck. And are desperate to get a good storyline going. Only the veteran writers of Spiderman seem to do a good story, but they are all either retired or working on other titles.

heh mistress...well, i was hoping not to read the name "wolverine." at least for five minutes.

I'd apologize, but it'd be hollow.
