Probably my favorite film of the Marvel Universe so far. It's so perfectly entertaining. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it, usually I'm not that big on those fanatasy-type things. I guess that what worked for me was the back and forth switching between Asgard and Earth. It broke the movie up in such a way that it was consistently entertaining. I must say though that I snickered and chuckled many times at the complete and utter ridiculousness of the film, which is not an insult because I was happy to see that the tongue was firmly in the cheek at times. Nordic Gods ride on horseback over rainbowbridge to the gatekeeper with the golden helmet and the heavy booming voice. It was all-out pulpy fun with at times dead-serious actors, it simply works. Branagh's crooked angles became pretty obnoxious now and then, and the same goes for his many ******** overstylisations such as shooting through flames for no reason. But in way, it does work for the movie. I have high hopes for Captain America!

I'm holding off on the Nolan ones until after TDKR, because I'm hoping for some kind of epic anthology edition.

I couldn't even handle that. No doubt there will be one, but I just think it will be a pretty box set that costs more.

How did the running time seem? This is under two hours which is about my only disapointment with it so far. It's coming out here on Friday, but did it feel like the movie cold have used more time?

I thought some parts seemed rushed story-wise, but all in all it was long enough I guess, had it been longer I might have liked it less. There's only so much sillyness one can take.

Oops. Thought this was the song thread.

I did last watch Sherlock Holmes though.

Ah, okay then. Cool. I'm glad you liked it. I just hope I do.

I just realized TIH is two minutes shorter and it had a good pace.
