"Thor" -maybe some spoilers to follow-
My theaters midnight showings were all 3D which was annoying because it made the film too dark in some scenes (especially the awesome opening battle).
I liked this movie a lot. The Avengers references made me groan a little, but they weren't shoved down my throat like the ones in "Iron Man 2"
I'm not sure which I like better of Marvel's movies: "Thor" or "Iron Man" hmmm...I'll have to think about it. Both films definitely had weak villains. For being the God of mischief and an all-out trickster Loki certainly left a lot of loose ends and made it easy for everyone to realize his deceptions. And the whole "You can't kill an entire race!" thing made me shrug. If the film had shown the Ice Giants with an actual culture or some innocent people living their lives in that realm, sure, I would've cared about saving them. But no. The few times we saw the Ice Giant realm it was just a bunch of monster-men sitting around, waiting to be evil. Blast away, Loki. Blast away.
Gotta say, after seeing Thor fight the Ice Giants and the big armor-suit-laser-guy...I don't know who the Avengers could be fighting that would require more than Thor to handle. I mean, why even assemble a team to fight a badguy in the Avengers when you could just ask Thor to bring his other God-friends.
Those critiques aside, I really enjoyed this movie. Heck of a lot of fun.
