It has a nice balance between drama and comedy and it's never over the top on either side. Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance is good with his ability to convey the different emotions his character goes through, subtle and very believable. Seth Rogen first may not seem to belong at home in this film but he handles well on his own and the portrait of their friendship was great, unfortunately the other characters wasn't developed as good and the romantic plot felt tack on unfortunately even if it was Anna Kendrick.

Overall entertaining, but felt like they were sugar coating the whole subject and despite having two scenes that are profound I was never really affected as I had hoped, it may not be the whole point anyway, but after all the good reception it got I was expecting a bit more.

9.5/10

A clever melding of comedy and tragedy told through two loosely connected stories that cross paths in an enlightening and bemusedly cynical way at the end.

One of the most beautifully photographed films in cinema history. The definitive celluloid-NYC with an odd, slightly creepy, but charming romance intertwined within. Superb beginning and ending in this classic.

the dilemma. for a comedy, this movie was actually kind of disturbing. and i can't for the life of me figure out why ron howard directed this. i mean, he can be hit or miss sometimes, but common, he's an oscar winning (or at least nominated, not sure if he's won) director. what's he doing directing some random vince vaughn/ kevin james comedy? this is the kind of movie the studio brings in a no name comedy director for.

^That movie was terrible. All of the characters were flat-out annoying particularly Vince's character (which is no surprise).

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

The Flame & The Arrow (1950)

It sucks that last year, we had The Losers, The A-Team, Predators, The Expendables and Red and none of them had a poster remotely that good.

They just don't make 'em like they used to. It's sad really, especially when you think about how much the new guys get paid for doing photo shopped crap.

I agree. I don't know what drew Rob into the project because it was just a typical broad comedy. I mean Ron did 'Parenthood' and 'Splash' but they were good and had some cultural impact.
