John Cater: 8.5/10
The Lorax 7/10
Alvin and the chipmunks 3: 6.5/10 - it was better than no.2 though

Neither can act but Lundgren is fully on as the bad guy, Van Damme is just dull, but with a movie like this all that matters is the action, sadly bar the first time we see the Unisol's in action and a truck chase near the end, it's mostly poorly shot and edited fight scenes and random gunfire. 4/10

A simple story but an incredibly charming hommage to the movie history. It's of course a matter of discussion however this was the best movie of the year (according to the Oscar Academy spectacle), but Jean Dujardin is great and the movie really captures the late 20:s in terms of the contemporary movie industry (at least as I imagine it) and visually in general IMHO.

As non American (and as such knowing quite little about the whole Sarah Palin debacle) I can't judge how objective and "true" this really is. But I just see it as an interesting and very well made HBO TV-movie with great actors. In fact, the casting made me watch it. Of course it's always fascinating to see how incredibly huge these election campaigns in USA really are. So very different from Europe/Scandinavia.

Julianne Moore is utterly briljant, Ed Harris makes another solid role (he was stellar in Pollock, and this just show he really should do more "biographic" roles). Also nice to see Woody Harrelson do really good in a somewhat unusual role. Sarah Paulson is great, and Peter MacNicol's character has only a small part in the story, but he's always underrated IMHO.
